Great Food & Great Atmosphere!

One of the best Vegan cuisine in Cambodia. The entire menu we found was Vegan, We tried Vegan Mango Lassi, complementary Fresh Carrot juice they said many juices are going to be added in menu, Iced Chai Masala with Almond Milk, Vada pav (Delicious Bombay Burger), Smoked egg plant Dosa & Bombay Grilled sandwich prices are very fair compared to the portion and quality served. Staff is very friendly and polite. We loved the contactless ordering system, its like ordering directly to the kitchen. Will visit again!

Pros: Huge choice of menu, Value for money, Bollywood Vibe

Formerly vegan, now vegetarian

My comment in a discussion was unfortunately deleted for no reason, so, well, here's my own review: The food was good actualIy, i used to like the food, was a guest there several times. The owner was rather unfriendly, photos are forbidden (weird "rule"), ordering is only possible via phone. Prices have recently increased.

The restaurant is no longer vegan, changed from vegan to vegetarian, that's pity. It seems confusing what is vegan and what is not. In my opionion it is also not right,
continue to call themselves "vegan". It can only be 100% vegan if only vegan products are processed in the kitchen.

So, unfortunately, i can no longer recommend the place to ethical vegans.

The best in Cambodia (Must Visit)

We usually don't have practice writing reviews, but we are so impressed with this place and the owner that we decided to write one. While passing by the street, we found this restaurant close to the riverside, near the Buddhist temple we visited. We tried Masala Chai with almond milk for $2.50, onion fritters for $3.50 for a big portion, and as a main course, my husband had spinach and tofu with garlic rice for $8, and I had a multi-grain Bombay Grilled/Vegan Mozzarella with Guacamole for $9. We still had food left for takeout. Everything tasted so fresh, you could actually feel it with every bite. The décor of the place is very interesting, especially on the first floor. We loved the colors and the décor. We tried many other vegetarian and vegan places, but Masala Dosa Street Kitchen in Cambodia has its own uniqueness. This is a must-visit place and a paradise for vegans.

Pros: Very Clean & friendly staff, Interesting Décor, good vibes, Excellent food, Value for money

Cons: Photography now allowed

Good food, but pricy

Near the bustling river, this little Indian restaurant had delicious food and lovely service. The mango lassi was delicious! Towards the end of the meal I ordered and extra avocado lassi, and the owner gave it free of charge (I think he already had printed the receipt, but still very generous!) Can easily do a riverside walk after eating here.

Note: When I went all the food was plant-based, but when I returned they served several dishes with dairy milk. :(
Note 2: Apparently now the menu is back to being all plant-based, due to push-back.

Vegan & Jain

Entire menu is Vegan we tried lunch special bowls Channa Masala, Dal Fry along with sev tomato curry all Jain - excellent food friendly staff. We also have Chai Masala made with Almond Milk & Kesar falooda Vegan! We don't have such great food in Mumbai too. Hats of to the chef & owners who made this happen in Cambodia.

Pros: Amazing Decor , 100% Vegan / Jain , Very clean & hygienic

Cons: Toilet on First Floor , big portions we couldn't try more dishes

NO LONGER VEGAN

NO LONGER VEGAN

Having led the way for vegan Indian food in Cambodia for a number of years, they have now added dairy milk and dairy cheese to their menu which is very disappointing.

The food has always been good here, that is not in question, we just wanted to be clear so that other customers understand that they are now a vegetarian restaurant and not a vegan restaurant.

You were a vegan restaurant and you are now a vegetarian restaurant. That is disappointing for me. But of course you can choose to serve whatever food you wish. It’s just a shame that one of the leading vegan restaurants in Cambodia has decided to change their business model and now serve dairy.

This is a great shame, not sure what they gained by this move

VeganFoodQuest

Your food is very good, I agree. But you are now a vegetarian restaurant as you serve dairy. It does not matter how much dairy you serve or on what floor you serve it, dairy is not vegan and by supporting the dairy industry in any way you are no longer vegan. It’s quite simple.

stop violating happy cow policy:

We appreciate your honest review. But if you are upset, consider approaching the business directly to give the owner an opportunity to make improvements. All malicious, profane, food poisoning remarks will be removed.

VeganFoodQuest

13 May 2023

My comment is neither malicious or profane. I’ve said that your food is good. I’ve also said that your restaurant is a vegetarian restaurant and not a vegan restaurant. Both of these comments are factual.

VeganFoodQuest

13 May 2023

Let me make it clear. I like your restaurant and I like your food. But I think it’s important that it’s clear that you now serve dairy so that people can make an informed choice. That’s it. Simple. Stop calling yourself a vegan restaurant.

VeganFoodQuest

13 May 2023

If you have changed your mind and no longer serve 10% dairy that would be amazing. I would be very happy if MDSK was 100% vegan again. Upstairs. Downstairs. Takeaway.

VeganFoodQuest

13 May 2023

But recent comments from you (which seem to have been deleted) say that “our ground floor is 100% vegan and we serve dairy on the first floor” and also “dairy is only 10% of our menu”. This is confusing for customers and is of course not vegan because you cannot be 90% vegan.

VeganFoodQuest

18 May 2023

I have visited your restaurant many times as you well know. I like your food. You are the one who needs to be clear as you recently added dairy to the menu (dairy yoghurt, dairy milk and dairy cheese). When I questioned this you commented that you “only serve dairy upstairs” and that “it is only 10% of your menu”. You have since deleted those comments which is indeed very confusing.

VeganFoodQuest

19 May 2023

You know very well I have visited your original location many times but not your new location. It is at your new location that you added dairy to the menu. Where are your comments about serving only 10% dairy and serving dairy only upstairs? Why did you delete them? Have you changed your mind about serving dairy? Perhaps you have as you have also deleted and edited posts on your FB mentioning dairy. It is all very confusing to your customers.

Visited new Location!

We visited new location diagonally opposite Thursday evening dinner, Wow the atmosphere is awesome, ground floor has the same feel of old Masala Dosa & the first floor is amazing with a bar and open kitchen. After reading they are vegetarian we still see the entire menu is Vegan. We tried Vegan momos, Vegan Kurkure Momos, Impossible sheek kebabs with hummus & garlic naan, Lemon grass masala chai with almond milk, Vegan curd rice & Vegan falooda. Everything was amazing well done masala dosa we will visit again.

old place
All the food is made fresh so there is a bit wait in busy hours - We are not supposed to leave masks on table which is really good thing. Contact less ordering system just scan QR on table and make orders.

Tasty food

Came here for lunch. I think the prices have gone up very recently as they aren’t what others have listed. We got a plain dosa and a lentil curry for $10 and they were some of the cheapest things on the menu. The food was tasty (not as good as what we had in India) but the environment was a bit strange with the no photography sign, the online menu ordering and the lack of atmosphere & staff not that friendly

This is not plain dosa in picture it is Masala Dosa / and we see just not lentil curry it's with Basmati long grain rice. No Photography but still have photos. We apologize for any inconveniences caused by our staff. We don't challenge your economics. We always try to serve hi quality ingredients preferably organic. Plain dosa is $3.50 & sambar rice bowl is $4.50 cheapest thank you.

Delicious

Really tasty food. We had the onion fritters (you must get), mushrooms in cream sauce, garlic fried rice and vegan kebab. Really delicious but one star less because there was no one else in there so didn’t really have an atmosphere plus the waiter was v grumpy and only addressed my boyfriend which was strange!

Pros: All vegan, Delicious food

Delicious vegan food

I really enjoyed the food here.

It's a slightly strange place, in that they don't give you menus or take your order, rather you're pointed to the QR code that's stuck on your table, and you browse the menu and place your order through the app.

That would make you think that they embrace technology, but on the same sticker there's an (unenforced) "No photography" label, so they certainly aren't embracing social media.

But after you place your order and optionally even pay through the app, there's a tip box on the counter which makes you think... but you didn't do anything.

I found all that a bit weird, but I can't fault this place for the food. It's top quality. The dosa's are great, and I had the best vegan cheese toastie I've ever had. Definitely worth coming here, just make sure to bring your phone.

Incredible flavours

Excellent fully vegan place.

Flavours were incredible.

Cute setting with a nice chilled vibe.

We were asked to order through a QR code/app - just a heads up. There was also a no photography sticker on the table so didn’t managed to get any snaps which is a shame cos it looked as good as it tasted!

Would recommend the toastie - it was wonderful! Will be back.

Explosion of flavors!

Possibly my favorite restaurant in town. The owner of this restaurant is extremely dedicated and provides high quality, excellent tasting food. Simply the highest standards. I had lunch here today and will go back for dinner tomorrow.

I highly recommend their sandwiches (especially The Bombay Grilled and the Avocado Grilled), all of their always crisp dosas (try some of the fusion dosas, such as the hummus dosa or the Channa Masala Dosa for a traditional choice. You really can't go wrong).

Bhelpuri and Panipuri are unique in Cambodia. Excellent "Meat" Kebab. Have a Faluda for dessert, or try one of their delicious lassi's. I usually prefer to end the meal with a masala chai.

Oh my god, don't get me started with their Kashu Katli!

Thank you Mr. Dharma.

Pros: Extremely dedicated owner and staff, Very clean and hygenic, Excellent food

Cons: The digital only menu took some getting used to, Opens a bit late for our dinner (young daughter)
