Serves meat, vegan options available. Indian food with meat on the menu, but there are also many vegetables dishes as well as some sides. Uses fresh ingredients. In Cascais it is difficult to find good vegetarian food because restaurants, even those with veg food usually offer only one or two options (like an omelet or a salad), but Masala offers a variety of vegetable dishes. Vegans to specify. Open Mon-Sun 17:30-00:00.

Tasty Indian with quite a few veg choices. - Edit
A tasty and reasonably-priced Indian in the bustling city centre. Lots of vegetarian choices and a few vegan ones although best to ask the staff about the fully vegan ones. Good variety, we ordered the peshwari naan, vegetable korma, rice and the tomato saag aloo which was delicious and my favourite dish. I like my Indian very spicy 🌶 which most dishes weren’t but I’m sure they had hotter dishes too.

Good vegan food, staff not overly excited to cook vegan - Edit
Was very interested in visiting due to reading reviews here. However upon arriving the staff almost sighed when I asked about vegan options. Telling me he is always cautious when someone says they are vegan.
Read moreHe did let me know which dishes could be vegan and the food was very good! Unfortunately no vegan naan but they gave me papadam as my company had ordered naan.
It was a popular restaurant with many dining guests and the atmosphere was very nice.
Pros: Nice staff, Good food
Cons: No vegan naan

Got my chickpea fix - Edit
Delicious food with lots of vegan options. Not too oily good flavours. I loved how the Indian & other Asian dishes in Cascais were actually spicy. I love chilli, so if you don’t make sure you say mild.

If you love Indian food, you will be very pleased. - Edit
And entire page and a half on the menu is dedicated to Vegetarian, however not all of them are vegan. They called over the guy who knew English the best and who knew the vegan idea the best. There were at least a half a dozen items that were Vegan. I ordered two, a chickpea medley and also a spinach dish with some white rice and spicy dip. As I write this, I’m dripping sweat from the spice. The food is fresh, like all of the vegetables here in Portugal have that extra taste of freshness. Great atmosphere in the cutest pedestrian street of touristy shops. Very romantic and Very tasty very tasty very tasty!

Nice enough - Edit
We found the food okay. Good but nothing extraordinary. Service was very friendly, but they served us paneer even though we had indicated we were vegan and explained about dairy and eggs.

Muito bem decorado, rápido atendimento, excelente comida - Edit
Gostei muito do restaurante. A decoração é maravilhosa. O ambiente aconchegante. O preço também me agradou. Paguei menos do que pagaria em qualquer fast-food. Mencionei que era vegano e o garçom se mostrou bem receptivo. Já sabiam que eu não comeria nada com manteiga ou ghee. Por fim, e não menos importante, a localização é excelente.

Amazing vegan options in cosy setting - Edit
Masala has a great selection of vegetable dishes and vegan options, although not marked as such on the menu. The staff were so helpful and went out of their way to make sure our needs were accommodated. This was a fun friendly Indian meal in a beautiful colourful restaurant in central Cascais. Top marks!

One of the best Indian food I've had - Edit
The title says it all, the food here is delicious. I went here in August 2016. I got pappadums from the house. My main dish was Dal Makhani. A bit too spicy for me but delicious. Enough curry sauce but not too oily. Sadly not everything is vegan but there are enough things to choose from. Just ask to get the dish without ghee (butter), just to be sure. Plus the restaurant has a nice ambiance. Staff was friendly as well.

The waiter imediatly asked if I was vegan when I asked the ingredients of the dishes, and made sure to mention which dressings and started were vegan (only one but still). This is not very common in other Indian restaurants, so i was extra pleased

Really good food, but when you order make sure to mention that you don't want dairy as cheese/butter will appear on your plate without it being mentioned on the menu.

Extremely good vegan friendly place - Edit
This is the best Indian I have eaten in my life, seriously. Everyone in my party agreed it was brilliant, including one Indian. They have combined over 2 pages of vegetarian and vegan dishes, I particularly liked the chickpea curry and one of the dall dishes I tasted from one of my friends. Excellent place but it was fully packed to I am glad I booked beforehand. They had to turn people away.

Really Good Indian Food - Edit
In July 2012 we visited Masala twice. In Cascais good vegetarian food was not easy to find, but at this restaurant you have a long list of choices. The first time I had the chick peas curry with rice and the second time I had a Tandoori dish of grilled homemade Indian cheese and rice with vegetables. Both dishes were very good. The second time we were there we ordered the mixed starters and although there are some meat starters on the menu, it was not a problem to serve a all veggie plate of starters. You also get a veggie starter from the house, that is a really flat fried 'Nan' with a few sauces. The staff that works there is really friendly and very helpful. Very popular, because it was always very busy. This is definitely a restaurant you want to go back to.
