Affordable, tasty and fresh! - Edit
I always enjoy a trip to Marugame Udon! They have a great vegan selection with affordable prices ranging from £5.95 to £11.95 for a meal. They also make their udon in house which you can see them doing when you queue up to order. They also offer many vegetable tempura options.

Marinated Tofu and my wife went for a large ‘Creamy’ Vegan Udon. They have a toppings station with free vegan toppings and I added spring onion and crispy tempura pieces to mine.
My dish was really tasty! The sauce was very flavourful, the tofu was tasty and plentiful and it had lots of fresh veggies. The udon noodles are also delicious, it’s all just so good, definitely recommend!

Good udon and curry - Edit
They have four vegan mains and a few side dishes to choose from. Had the udon with sticky Tofu and the Curry. Both really good for a fast food chain.

Nice food, casual & relaxed - Edit
My friend visits various branches so had vouchers off, making it even better value.
Read moreWe visited around 3.30 when it was quieter but not empty, lovely staff especially Adrian, photographed who was kind and patient and went over and above.
The vegan menu is good though the tofu was dry and cold which was a shame but the rest, the condiment table - - I love the fresh and dried chillies - drinks were all great and just as we needed after Horizon 22, St Boltophs and Spitalfields Market
Joining their club gives many offers and deals (we were handed a Katsu meal deal which we didn't have)
Really stylish, clean lower ground floor toilets which were a pleasure to use.
I'll be back and highly recommend to anyone.
Pros: Fresh food & condiment table, Lovely staff & venue, Great value
Cons: Tofu was dry and cold 😟

Actually very good - Edit
It's cafeteria-style serving means that you may not get the freshest bowl if you arrive after the lunch rush hour, but I personally loved how customisable it is.

Cheap udon choice - Edit
I didn’t know where we were heading and wasn’t sure to find any vegan options, but to my big surprise they had a special vegan festival udon soup for the Xmas period. Also did they offer 2 Vegan snacks (tempuras & gyozas).
Read moreThere dine-in has a long queue so we preferred to grab and go.
The noodles were tasty and thick. The broth was a bit bland, could have been more flavorful and spicier. But the biggest minus point was that there wasn’t much filling…
However, the menu is cheap, even if you choose the “big” size.

Favourite Japanese Udon 🍜🌱 - Edit
As a Japanese vegan, the combination of Marugame Udon and vegan options is a miracle. Margume udon has been one of my comforts foods back in Tokyo, and being able to have them here in London vegan is amazing. The price is very cheap for a really nice udon, they have a couple of options available for vegan broths, and they also have a tofu onigiri which is seasoned really nicely !
Read moreThe system is also very nice and quick. Grab a tray, order your udon, pick up udon, grab a couple of tempuras, and pay. After paying there is a little condiments station where you can top it up with spring onions, chilli flakes, crispy onions, etc.

Best udon in London - Edit
This udon restaurant is the best in London. They hand make the noodles right in front of you, and they have a large variety on their menu and quite a lot is vegan. Good for family and friends, and fun environment.

Yummy Udon - Edit
This is a Japanese/Anime enthusiast Heaven! I ordered the Kake with veggie broth, vegetable tempura and vegetable gyoza. For Sakura season (April) they had cherry vegan soft serve which was so good. They also advertise if certain things on the menu contain fish, which is good to know for any potential vegan clientele. In the toilets, you can improve your Japanese as they play pre-recorded key phrases should you venture to Japan in the future😉

Cheap and cheerful lunch - Edit
Went on my lunch break from work. The queue was outside but it went down quickly. You line up canteen style to get your food and then pay at the till. I had curry udon at £6.25 which I thought was really reasonable for this area. Lots of tempura options too (I had courgette). If you sign up to they loyalty scheme you get two free pieces on your first visit.

Fast and excellent value - Edit
Canteen style, the menu has several vegan options and once you have your udon noodles you shuffle across to the tempura section (also with vegan options) which is self service and charged per piece. There’s also a complimentary condiment and topping station which includes agedama (tempura batter scraps 👌🏼). They also have unlimited vegan matcha soft serve.
