How can you like this?

I don't know who they try to cater to, it's like some corporate people sat together and tried to come up with something young people, or health focussed people want. It's so far from vegan vegetarian friendly that I don't understand why you would support this chain over say, ekoplaza. Dead fish are displayed, pieces of meat displayed like it an Italian hunting village. Ekoplaza sells meat and fish but does so discretely and not as one of their main selling points.

Pros: Nah

Cons: Overpriced, gory

Grab something to go

This is like a Whole Foods, great selection of everything for an urban grocery store. I was able to grab fruit and a quinoa salad to make a perfect lunch.

Pros: Good amount of vegan options , Clearly labeled “vegan” items , Low price

Cons: Easy to walk right past

Bad customer service

This supermarket chain is disappointing since you can't pay in cash there. That way the are supporting a development into a cashless, fascist society where everyone is under permanent control and tracking. I left the shop without buying anything because they refused to take my cash. Only cash means freedom but even this they want to take from us. The customer should have the choice how he/she wants to pay, it should not be dictated by the shop owners, banks or politicians. I'm definitely boycotting this chain.

Wide selection

The supermarket has a wide selection of fruits and veggies and other refined vegan products. Unfortunately there is also a lot of meat and cheese that smells a lot.
You can only pay with card, the don't take cash!

Pros: lots of veggies and vegan options

Cons: smells of meat and cheese, only takes card, no cash

All the basics...

Marqt carries a good range of, "health-food" and organic staples, from wholewheat pasta to fresh fruit to vegan cheeses. If you're stuck when out and about in Amsterdam then it's a reliable chain, and this one is a decent size. But the speciality items, whilst delicious, can be a little expensive, so I mainly only buy veg. and bread here. Also make sure you check the ingredients, as there is no vegan section, but on the plus side, dairy and allergens are clearly marked on most things.

Pros: large choice, location

Cons: not fully veg, no cash
