I had an incredible experience. We called ahead to let them know part of my group is vegan. The atmosphere, service, and food is the best you’ll find around.
Read moreThe way it works, there’s 5 courses. One course is a fixed soup (white bean soup for non-vegans, curry lentil for vegans). The rest you choose from a list (or off-menu specials). Most courses had 1-3 vegan options to pick from. The wine pairings are worth it! I forgot to take a picture of the lentil soup but it was out of this world.

Stunning luxury - Edit
I travel a lot for work and my team always want to eat in the most high profile expensive places and that often means high quality food for everyone else and a salad with fries for me.
Read moreThat is not what you will get here. The vegan items on the menu are outstanding as they are, but there were multiple items that could be made vegan and off menu specials that weren't listed. Every thing that came out was exceptional. Can not recommend highly enough. You will love it. Take your meaty mates, they will love it too, and they'll thank you for it. One of the best restaurants I've eaten in, in any country in the world.

Wish more fine dining restaurants were like this! - Edit
Just came back from our amazing dinner at Marmalade. My partner is omni and ordered different things, but we were both very impressed with our meals. It's a five-course tasting menu for everyone and they do offer at least one vegan option for each course. What's great is that the vegan options are inherently vegan, meaning they won't have to remove this and that and take something away from a dish. Whenever restaurants do that, I just feel like a second-class customer being shortchanged and that they're doing me a favor. But here I felt welcomed as a vegan. It felt like the chef truly made an effort to design dishes that vegans may actually enjoy. He even personally brought an extra mushroom dish to our table and sent us each an additional palate cleanser course!
Read moreThe food was complex and delicious from start to finish, which has sadly never been my experience at a non-vegan fine dining restaurant. The courses were well paced. The staff was friendly and professional. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and could explain every dish in detail. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Yes, it is a little spendy, but really it's quite reasonable all things considered and I thought it was worth every penny.
Pros: excellent food, superb service, vegan friendly

Please, post pictures. We need pictures of the vegan food as well as reviews of the restaurant itself.
Read moreIf you didnt take any pics of your food, please make sure in the future, to always take pics of your plates (preferably before we start eating, so we can also tell the portion size of it).
Thanks! 🙏🏼😊

Amazing dinner - Edit
We were looking for a nice dinner for my wife’s birthday and we’re lucky enough to find Marmalade. It was expensive but the food and service were amazing. The tasting menu was 5 courses and there wasn’t much variety for the vegan options, but everything we ate was delicious. Service was also impeccable and the staff kept stopping by to wish my wife a happy birthday.

Incredible - Edit
This is possibly the best food “experience” I have ever had. The restaurant called us the day before to ask us about any special accommodations we would need and of any food allergies. Then they asked if it was a special occasion.
Read moreI thought because it was so high end they would have valet. They do not. You need to park in a parking lot a couple streets over and walk to the restaurant.
It is a fixed menus but you have options. You get 3 appetizers, a main course and a dessert. You can get wine pairing with everything if you want. We chose not to do that we could really savor the food. SO worth it!
So many wonderful flavors.
This will definitely be my restaurant of choice for special occasions!
Pros: Amazing flavors, So creative , Very accommodating wonderful staff
Cons: Expensive, A LOT of food, Need reservations

Would give 5 stars if I could! - Edit
Our meal at Marmalade was phenomenal but pricey. The servers really know the menu well and were about to point out the vegan options or things that could be modified to vegan. There are only a few vegan options to pick from but several things can be modified to vegan.
Read moreI got the heirloom tomatoes for the first course, and what really made the dish was the house made vegan mozzarella. Next I had the salsicha, which was super tasty though maybe a bit salty. For the main course I had the chefs special which was pastelles. The texture was pretty soft, which isn’t usually my favorite but it was still good. Finally I had the flight of 3 vegan ice creams for dessert.
With 2 drinks, my partner and I each spent close to $300 after tip so this type of dining is a once a year thing for us. If you can swing it and want a nice, creative vegan meal in San Juan I highly recommend.
Pros: Upscale vegan options
Cons: Expensive, You must do the tasting menu

Great Vegan Menu!! - Edit
The atmosphere is very romantic. We did a 3 and 4 course meal, the last course is always a dessert(only one vegan option). They brought my wife a snack(R3) since i ordered one more course than her so she wasn't just watching me eat. Every time a plate was brought out they explained what was on the plate. The food was different than any i had before and tasted so great!!

Check out my photos i upload for a few menu items. Price with 3 drinks came to over $200 without tip.

Amazing!!! - Edit
Amazing! They offer a four to six course tasting menu, and they have a separate vegetarian menu. When we told the server we were vegan, the chef came out and let us know what on the vegetarian menu was vegan or could be made vegan, which was most everything. They only had one vegan desert option on the menu, so the chef made a special vegan desert so we could both have our own deserts to try. The server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Upscale atmosphere. Great for a night out in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico!

Good vegetarian options, great service & ambience - Edit
A great restaurant for creative good food & excellent service. This is a must eat in Old San Juan. They are very vegetarian friendly. We had their vegetarian tasting menu & my wife & I shared almost all the vegetarian items. The portions were good & we were full. I can't remember all the items that we had, but it was worth it. The atmosphere is very nice. This was some of the best service we have ever gotten outside of the Taj Hotel & Restaurant chain. In particular, we had great service from Heriberto (captain), Katya (assistant server) & Gabriel, Luis, & Christian (food runners).

This is not a vegetarian restaurant and should not be listed on this site. Any restaurant in the world can say they will work with vegetarians, but this is a VERY meat and foie gras based menu and is NOT vegetarian.

High-end and very tasty! - Edit
Marmalade is definitely one of the better/best restaurants in San Jan to eat at. The place is not vegetarian by any means but the chef will work with you if you alert the restaurant before hand. We went there with our extended family for dinner, about 8 of us. It was a pre-fixe menu, and the chef made a vegetarian pre-fixe menu for both my wife and I. It was hands-down the best meal we had in San Juan. Again, it is higher-end and pricey but a really fun place to have a meal and more especially a cocktail.
