Great pastries, mid sandwiches - Edit
I’ve been here twice and the pastries are amazing; especially the almond croissant. I cannot say the same about the sandwiches though as they are a hit or miss. There are some good ones, but neither the quality nor creativity justify the price and size. The description doesn’t really live up to expectations either. That being said, you should still visit, just skip right to the sweet stuff.

Pros: Pastries are INCREDIBLE, Choice of white-sesame or whole wheat!
Cons: Sandwiches are disappointing, Expensive size-wise, Staff acts a bit chaotic

Tasty sandwich and pastry - Edit
This place was recommended to me. On my first visit I got the summer roast sandwich on whole wheat oat and it was pretty good, but not revelatory. A friend of mine really loves the croissants here so I came back the next morning and tried the ham and cheese. Apparently these sell out early. It was huge! The ham was made from seitan I believe. Again it was very good, but I’m not a croissant connoisseur. I’m not sure I can tell yet what makes a good one.

Amazing sandwiches and pastries - Edit
No idea why anyone needs to put animal products in things when you can make it taste THIS good without harming anyone! Margos is amazing. You should 10000% go if you’re in the area. Some of the best vegan pastries and sandwiches I’ve ever tried.

Best croissants in Amsterdam - Edit
Went here several times. My all time favorite is the jambon-fromage croissant (ham-cheese🧀). All the croissants are great; crispy, moist, fluffy, savoury, perfect. My family loves them too (not vegan), you won’t taste the difference ( better than the croissants with butter that I’ve tasted in Amsterdam). Their sandwich options look delicious, haven’t tried them yet.
Read moreDanish pastries are good, just not my thing. Other pastries and cookies look great, will definitely try them. Had the brioche for Easter.
Love that they use mostly organic ingredients and support sustainable causes like The ocean cleanup.
Very friendly and upbeat owner and staff.
Missed the special tompouce on King’s Day (vegan versions aren’t easily available) , will order it next year.
Only downside for me is that they don’t have gluten-free options, otherwise I would visit them weekly.

Delicious pastries and sandwiches - Edit
Went here twice, they have great coffee with oatmilk, the croissants were a bit too oily but delicious. Also tried a matcha coolie that was lots of sugar, not so much flavour. The summer roast sandwich was amazing!

CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT THE CROISSANT - Edit
We visited Margo’s yesterday as we’re visiting Amsterdam. If I could pick up this shop and take it back to England, I would. I can’t stop thinking about the vegan ham and cheese croissant, and the rhubarb danish was divine.

Really good croissant. The chocolate in the pain au chocolat is really dark. The cardamon brioche was tasteful, but not something we’ll order again.

Get the pastries over the sandwiches - Edit
We got a few sandwiches and then a savory ham&cheese croissant and a double-baked chocolate hazelnut croissant. The croissants were really delicious. The chocolate hazelnut one is probably a tie for the best pastry I had in Amsterdam.
Read moreThe sandwiches were good but some were definitely better than others (the hoisin seitan one I liked but their fish fillet one was disappointing) and the bread was very soft, which is not the sandwich bread I was hoping for.
The staff was very friendly though, and I definitely recommend the croissants!
Pros: The croissants, Friendly staff
Cons: Sandwich bread

Fantastic pastries - Edit
Fantastic all vegan bakery. I tried a couple of pastries, one had a lemon filling, which was delicious, and the other was a decent cardamon bun. I also had a sandwich, which was tasty and well filled.

Amazing, but… - Edit
Incredibly flaky and crispy croissants and pain au chocolats! But to be picky, there was almost no butter/margarine flavor, which I feel is essential for a croissant. It tasted more like oil had been used. Tried the croissants at neighboring Saint-Jean bakery and they had that butter flavor you’re after (the best vegan baked goods I’ve had in a while, definitely recommend). I hope Margo’s can improve their recipe while keeping the flakiness!
