Falafel fantasy

Maoz is the place to go to customize your own falafel pita. They advertise as vegan, but they've got a few marked vegetarian options. It's a small place but conveniently located right in the heart of the city.

Good as always

Friendly staff tell you what is vegan and what is not. Turns out only 3 steel trays and 2 sauce bottles were not vegan. Self-service salad bar but no refill for hygiene reasons. Sometimes long wait because it is popular. Not much indoor space to sit but they do have a terrace at the Grote Markt.

Pros: Friendly staff, Outdoor terrace, Good location

Cons: Long wait, Indoor seating is small, Not all vegan

Good quality falafel

I love Maoz!! The one in Amsterdam seems to have more food for the same amount of money (but nobody ever said that about Amsterdam lol so Im gonna go on a search for that soon)
And the Maoz in Amsterdam is fully vegan😄

Great for a nightly snack

The falafel is a great way to end your night out! When all your non-veg(an) friends buy their döner, Maoz is your go-to place!

Pros: Cheap, Quick, Tasty

Cons: Very unhealthy

Amazing quick bite

A blessing when you want a quick bite late at night, in the center of nijmegen. They have the falafel pita whith many toppings which you can put on yourself and you can get fries.

Pros: Almost fully vegan

Heerlijk broodje Falafel

Best falafel place!

Always satisfied with the falafel, although it is a shame that it's mainly vegetarian unlike the Maoz chain in Amsterdam. Meaning you gotta watch out for the sauces etc. Otherwise, it's a fantastic price-quality-taste combo and the owners are super friendly! You can even take the salads in your own Tupperware to avoid using single-use plastic containers.

Pros: tasty, friendly staff, quick

Cons: not fully vegan

Amazing falafel

Customize your falafel wrap with ingredients you like. Owner is very friendly. There is some place to sit and eat, but it's more a take-away

Pros: Amazing falafel

Cons: Not 100% vegan, More a take-away place

Great value tasty food

This is my go-to eatery when I'm not cooking. I always just get falafel in pita bread, eat in so I can refill salads and sauces as much as I want, and bring my own plastic fork to make it easier to eat.

Pros: Good value, Healthy, Quick

Cons: No fork provided, Limited choices

The best falafel in town

You're always happy and satisfied after a visit to Maos. The falafel is freshly made and as it should be, the salads are good and they have vegan tahinisaus! Staff is friendly especially considering the (boring) job they have, it's very central and with a nice view. If there's no space inside there's a terras and otherwise you can order take away and walk to the small green park around the corner (opposite of Barro Alto and De Hemel - the local brewery)

Pros: The best falafel, a lot of salads, tahinisaus

Cons: Small

Good food, decent price.

Although, as others have stated, the space is quite limited, we still managed to get a seat and some food! The falafels were very good, so were the fries. The guy serving us pointed out which sauces were vegan and which ones were not.

I have to admit, I have no idea who I could have picked up more salad from the bar than I could fit in my falafel pita. Maybe I oversaw places or something... I would have like to try some more of the salads (to be fair, I had the falafel pita with fries and a drink and it was really good and filling so I couldn't have eaten more anyways), but I failed to see how I could have taken anything other than in my falafel pita.

Good location (nice view of the historical buildings when you get a window seat/seat outdoors), very decent pricing (less than 8€ for a falafel pita, fries with sauces, + salad bar), and overall good food! I already know where I'm going when I return to Nijmegen!

Pros: good food, good value, friendly staff

Cons: some sauces were not vegan, not very spacious

Good value for money

I love the concept of unlimited access to the saladbar. I find myself just filling up my pita bread with vegetables.
The food is great and staff is friendly. It's a shame that not all sauces are vegan, so maybe that's something they could improve on, but since it vegetarian, I doubt it. It's a small place as well with only a few seats.

Pros: Good food, unlimited salad bar, friendly staff

Cons: small space, not all sauces vegan

Plain perfect

To eat falafel, you just have to go here. Simple as that. We love the food and the extremely friendly staff. Price is reasonable.
Just one con: the place is too small. I estimate approx. 12 m^2 inside. And I recall a visit when there were about 15 people inside. Like chickens in a basket ;-)
But that's okay. We still love it!

And... 10% discount for members of Nederlandse Vereniging voor Veganisme!

Pros: Perfect food, Fair price, Super friendly staff

Cons: Too little space inside

Not impressed.

We were not impressed. Food was ok, but the lady working there had no idea what veganism is and asked if it was some kind of religion. Bit disappointed. We have been to other Maoz, like in Parish, which was much better.

Pros: fast and reasonable priced

veggie fast food

Was pleasantly surprised to see this one here. Good food, not to expensive and you have the possibility to put your own salad/veggies/sauce on the falafel. Owner is friendly and patient :)

Prices are ok, not that cheap but also not overly expensive.

Pros: tasty food, putting salad+sauce on it yourself

Cons: small space inside, not that cheap
