Home in Kyoto - Edit
Friendly staff and lovely traditional accommodation. Modernised just enough so that you have everything you need. The 2 we stayed in had lovely peaceful little garden areas. Owner has lots of great vegan tips.

living the dream - Edit
When I've ever dreamed of living in Japan, this place is as nice and even nicer than I've ever imagined.
Read moreIt's a traditional style Japanese house, in a quiet, beautiful, comfortable, and clean. Most of the neighbors seem to be old people and nearby there are streams with small bridges, and beauty. A couple train stations are easily walkable and there are bicycles free with the place. The place comes equipped with everything I could think of, and a guide book to answer all questions.
The volunteers and people running it are super nice and I would stay here by choice if I ever return to the area.
Pros: traditional house, comfy, quiet
