BEST MEATBALLS PASTA I'VE EVER HAD! - Edit
Had to make sure with the waiter twice that these meatballs are in fact vegan.

Wow! Just wow! - Edit
We ordered three of the four items from the vegan menu: stuffed pastry w/ orange, pasta w/ red sauce, and spicy polpette. There are some vegan and/or can be made vegan items in the regular menu. We ordered the bruschetta. All were exceptional. Wonderful flavors. I haven’t had authentic Italian cuisine in over 10 years. The Italian restaurants in my area seem to be the hold-outs when it comes to offering vegan options 🤷🏼♀️. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We chose the air conditioned indoor with a booth next to the window for people watching. Unfortunately, they were out of the vegan dessert that night so we didn’t get to try it 😭.

Great Italian atmosphere - Edit
A great place to go if you’re in the mood for Italian food. Mamma Rosa, herself, was there. You will know her by her red hair. It felt like we were in a restaurant but also a highly decorated house. Everywhere you look are pictures of actors from Italian cinema.
Read moreThey come out with a nice bread basket. Sometimes there is milk in breads but I did not ask. Not sure about the vegan ness of that basket but definitely veg friendly.
They do have a small vegan menu. They had four items on it and only two were available at the time. However, the Mamma Rosa salad 🥗 was vegan and not listed on the vegan menu, so there may be other items that can be made to accommodate.
The flavors in the tomato sauce of my husband’s pasta was an explosion of herbal delight. I should have tried the vegan pasta but I wanted pesto gnocchi. This was our first night here on the island and a large part of coming to Mamma Rosa’s was so I could have a glass of bubbly. Count on the Italians for having Prosecco 😄🥂

Delicious - Edit
The place was full of Italians when we sat down- everyone was speaking Italian- so that seemed like a good sign.
Read moreEverything was delicious, if a tad salty. The homemade pasta was especially wonderful. The place is cute and the waiters were kind and courteous.
Definitely recommend this place!
Pros: Homemade vegan pasta, Vegan dessert!, Sauce... mmm
Cons: A bit saltier than I prefer
