Good curry but don't go for the larb - Edit
Got a massaman tofu and a larb tofu with rice. The massaman was quite tasty but the larb tofu was really not to my taste -- way too salty and no real other flavor. I would try some other curries (if none of the surrounding restaurants had any spaces left) but not go for the larb tofu again

Didn't try the food but it looks really unwelcoming here is why - Edit
We arrived and I asked my husband several times if he is sure, it looked like an 3 years abandoned place. In the back a pile of dumpster.

I really didn't want to go, food might be good but where to enjoy it???!!

Hidden gem 💎 Lovely staff - Edit
I have seen the reviews of this restaurant before but never went to this place. Even though it’s on the main road it’s quite hidden.
Read moreWhen you are searching a place with the best interior design this restaurant is probably not the right for you but when you are searching good Thai food for a reasonable price this is your place.
The woman who is working there was so friendly and welcomed me with a smile.
I had the tofu larb, vegetables and rice. I really liked it.
Will come there again
Pros: Owner - so friendly , Good food

Amazing, best Thai curry I’ve had so far - Edit
A separate vegan and vegetarian menu with 10 options. The massaman curry with tofu was amazing bc and full of flavor. (80 B) Seriously delicious. A lot of veggies and a large bowl of curry. Google maps leads you to the wrong place I think. It’s a small place right off the road, husband is a tinkerer and wife is the only worker and chef. She is so lovely and sweet, service above and beyond. Highly recommend. Lots of vegan options in Sri thanu, this one is authentic.

Mixed experience - Edit
We had a lovely meal here but the food and service was pretty mixed. The owner is really lovely but when the food arrived they didn’t bring out any plates or cutlery - we waited a while and eventually went and asked for them.
Read moreThe food was mixed too - Yellow curry was incredible, Pad Thai was fine, but the sweet&sour tofu and vegies wasn’t great.
Also don’t be surprised that half the restaurant is an electrical repair shop…..definitely unique!

CHEAP BUT GOOD!! (TOFU LARB and EGGPLANT super) - Edit
Loved their larb with tofu. Ordered also eggplant tofu (5 chili, ~ 80B) which is also one of my fav dishes on the island.. It could have been even a bit more spicy but still SO GOOD! There was also holy basil. Tom Kha soup was also really goood..! Really nice place to eat and lovely owner💗(edited jan 2021, still open😄

Very Good Thai Food - Edit
This is our favourite non veg spot in the area. We eat at fully veg restaurants as much as we can but sometimes it just isn't possible. This is our go-to in that situation. This restaurant has a separate vegetarian menu most of which is also actually vegan and the owners/staff understand vegan and will confirm no fish sauce etc.
Read moreThe dishes taste really good and are authentic. If you want spicy you can mark 5 stars but if you want really spicy you should probably make it very clear as they seem to naturally tone down the spice for foreigners instead of making it as spicy as Thai people have it, which was what we wanted.
It is a busy place that has been well established since over ten years ago.
A great spot for some real Thai food.
Pros: Authentic Thai, Can do spicy (stress spicy!), Open late
Cons: Not all veg, Bit basic

Potentially favorite green and massaman curries. - Edit
100 baht for curry rice (brown or white). Had papaya salad, green curry and massaman curry. Everything was delicious, and the portion sizes were great. Wish we went here sooner. Would’ve gone many more times!

💯 - Edit
Very reasonably priced. Had papaya salad, green curry, and massaman curry. All very good but massaman was the star of the show hands down. Also the woman who I assume is the owner is super adorable. Definitely recommend.

Cheap and big portions - Edit
Clear vegetarian section on the menu with lots of vegan options. Food is tasty but there’s better Thai options in the area. The green curry was very nice flavour wise but was a bit thin and the tofu was bland. Big portions so very good value.

Great green curry, afforable and delicious! - Edit
Had a green curry and papaya salad at Mama Pooh's. They have nice seating outside, we were served after around 15 minutes and food was fresh and delicious. The papaya salad was a good size to share as a starter (only 50 Baht) and the green curry was the best I've had so far in Thailand. Such a nice flavour, not oily, not too sugary, so many vegetables and the perfect coconut soup sauce.

Wonderful Vegetarian Thai food! - Edit
Mama Pooh herself is absolutely lovely, despite not speaking English, communication was never an issue. Extensive menu, with an entirely separate 100% vegetarian menu. The green curry was amazing! Best Thai food I've had to date, and would give 5 stars if I could. Lovely atmosphere, super friendly and super cheap! Highly recommended.

Dirty, messy, not good - Edit
There is nobody there, so you really don't need to go early. We had a massaman and green tofu curries. Green one was edible but really watery. Massaman wasn't massaman at all, it was kind of a vegetable soup, it tasted like carrots. But the biggest thing was the ambience and surroundings, it was disgusting. The restaurant was dirty, full of garbage and other stuff. They shouldn't make food there at all.

i love traditional family business restaurants and this is the best example for me. the place is quite small and only 6-7 tables (for 4 persons each) and usually is always full so better arrive early.. definitely recommend this restaurant and the staff is nice, friendly and has a very nice atmosphere.
