Cute family owned restaurant - Edit
The family who run the place are very friendly and understand what vegan means. They made me a vegan laap with sticky rice which was really nice and very good value!

Large servings and excellent papaya salad - Edit
Had the fried rice with vegetables (ask with no eggs), nothing outstanding but the servings are large. The papaya salad was very good and very fresh, as one of the family member did go buy a papaya by motorbike when we ordered it!

Lots of options but average quality - Edit
We ordered pad Thai and vegetable curry. Both were ok but nothing special. Lots of vegan/veggie choices, menu similar to many places in Nong Khiaw.

We had spring rolls, fried mama noodles and a pumpkin soup. The food was freshly made, authentic and very delicious. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. They even understand a bit English.

Very friendly owners! - Edit
The place is simple and a bit outside from 'centre'. The owners are lovely people! It is authentic experience, as the seating area is next to their house😊
Read moreWe came for breakfast and I got mango sticky rice. The portion was big and mango itself delicious. Just too much sugar unfortunately.
My friend eats standard diet and she took vegetarian schakschuka and she said the same that she can taste sugar.

Simple and delicious! - Edit
It is extremely cheap to dine here and you will need to be clear about being vegetarian, but they seemed to understand that clearly. Service was friendly and quick. I got the stir fried noodles and they were simple but delicious. Portion size was a bit on the small side for the noodles, but decent enough given the low price. It’s a good dining option for vegans.

Nice little rustic Laotian cuisine - Edit
Had a good knowledge of veggie and vegan. I had fresh spring rolls and take way fried spring rolls. I had some comfort food in their mashed potatoes which were scrumptious but a bit small.

I also had a tasty chocolate shake.

Excellent - Edit
La nourriture est très bonne et copieuse. Il y a la possibilité de demander sans œufs pour les vegans. Le service est un peu lent comme partout en Asie, les plats sont préparés minute mais très bon. Prenez une bière en attendant et profitez du moment ;)

Not recommended - Edit
The food was delicious but I ordered the fried bamboo and got fried bamboo with egg. Also ordered steamed rice and after asking for it 3 times, while my other dish was getting cold, I got told they didn't have steamed rice so I got sticky rice instead which was obviously cooked way earlier that day. The girl (daughter?) who took our orders and brought us our food was incredibly rude the entire time, trying to get us to order quickly so she could go back to watching TV. I did not complain about any of this btw because they probably wouldn't understand it anyway.

Great Lao food! - Edit
We decided to go to mama Lao's after reading some great reviews. There are quite a few vegan options and everything we ordered was delicious and so cheap. Our meal was the best we had in Nong Khiaw so we decided to go back the next night and it was just as delicious.
Read moreThe restaurant is in the front of her house and the whole meal is cooked by Mama Lao so may take a bit of time if busy but is worth the wait. Mama Lao is lovely!! She is able to speak some English. We highly recommend.
We would definitely give this restaurant a 5 star but as it serves meat we are only able to give it 4 star (under happycows conditions)

Best Restaurant in town - Edit
Family owned, extremely cheap restaurant with one of the best Lao dishes! You need to write your order on a sheet but almost every dish is listed separately as a basic meal, with egg and with egg and meat.
