Fantastic! - Edit
A lovely pub with a great vegan menu, I had the “chicken plate” and it was really really good. Will definitely be back next time we are in Sydney

Fantastic pub grub - Edit
A wonder this is not more well known.
Read moreWe travelled from Newcastle and were treated to a beautiful hotel with a full plant based vegan menu as the staple.
The vegan pub food was awesome.
We tried the:
Poutine which was awesome and something I haven't had since I ate meat and in Canada years ago, it was great
The blooming deep fried onion was delicious and seasoned excellently.
The pesto pasta bake however was a disappointment as 1/3 if the plate was delicious pasta leaving the rest a garden salad.
Our two chocolate shakes brought back childhood memories and were fantastic.
Pros: Poutine , Chocolate shake, Blooming onion
Cons: Pesto pasta bake

Will be back for more! - Edit
Food at this vegan bistro is so filling and tasty! 😋 The mozzarella sticks here has got to be the best vegan mozzarella sticks I have had so far. My sister and I shared the traditional lasagne, chicken parma and the choc fudge brownie with ice cream - our stomachs were full to the brim. The popcorn chicken was crispy and not overly salty which was just right. I’ll definitely be back to try their other dishes!

tasty pub grub - Edit
Pub meals aren't usually my favourite so I don't know if I would've eaten here if I hadn't been on my way to a movie nearby but I'm glad I did! There were only a couple of other tables in on a Sunday afternoon so it was chill and cosy. Indoors is a bit dark and dingy but the covered courtyard was pretty bright. You order at the bar and pick-up at the kitchen window so it's very quick and convenient. We shared the poutine and the caesar salad and both were damn tasty! Perfectly seasoned crispy chips will always get a shout out from me! The gravy was the classic chip shop kind - thin and salty - which was perfect in this context. The salad had lots of fresh, crunchy cos, garlicky croutons, smoky bacon, sharp vegan parmesan, covered in creamy dressing. It was topped with a sliced schnitzel which made it a really substantial meal but the texture wasn't the best I've tasted, it was fine though. Their house lager was nice and crisp and refreshing too, it went down very smoothly with the rich food!

We had to try a meal at the Chippo hotel, we met Mama B, an absolutely lovely, super friendly passionate lady.
Read moreIt’s just a pub however it’s 100% Vegan … WOW 🤩
Pool table, bar area, beer garden, it’s got the lot.
We had the Chiken parmi, served with awesome chips, and fresh salad.
Then we ordered the Black Forest cake & pavlova, both really delish !
Reasonably priced - would love to come back when there is comedy nights/entertainment … think this pub is a great thing … Well done Mama B 🙏
Ohh and don’t forget to try the blooming onion .. IT’S a work of art and tastes like something out of this world … how do they do it ?

A must - Edit
If you’re vegan and not dragging your friends here (even if you don’t drink) then are you really vegan? My old local from work pre vegan days now fully vegan is an amazing gift and first of many let’s hope. Until then enjoy the Sunday roasts and all the other delicious menu options and good company. Bonus comedy nights too

Incredible at being unhealthy hedonistic food - Edit
I went there knowing I wanted something unhealthy as too often restaurants have the one vegan meal double as the healthy option. I didn’t feel like this that day. I got the nachos. It was something I could make at home. There was no depth to the meal. It had like 4 different kind of vegan dairy substitutes. It was perfect.
Read moreI went with a group who did not normally eat vegan and they all enjoyed it enough to want to go back.
Some of the food was a little overcooked/burnt but that was the real only downside
Pros: Large large menu, Great at being hedonistic, Proper pub
Cons: Very expensive, You need to be in a specific mood for this

All vegan, delivery is an option! - Edit
I'd like to come back to try some other vegan dishes, but while the lasagne was fine, the real winners were the vegan mashy balls and Mexican grilled street corn!

It’s stodgy food but that’s exactly what you want from a pub. I have eaten here three times already this trip and I’ve been here four days. My carnivorous friends also came here and loved it. Thoroughly recommend.

Vegan pub food - Edit
Great to see a vegan pub in Sydney. I just wish it was a bit better. The food was boring & cheap - lots of lettuce, white bread, big slabs of lightly flavoured tofu… and the pub feels a bit seedy.

Sydney’s vegan pub - Edit
I practically lived here on our most recent trip to Sydney. We caught up with friends for dinner on our first night and had the two big pub meals on the menu, the chicken parma and the lasagne, both superior pub grub and a decent size. A couple of cocktails helped them down. I’d already planned to come back for a burger the next day since we were going to the gallery nearby. We ended up having the huge (but not cheap) Sunday roast, which had some pretty good elements, including fresh green beans and Yorkshire pudding. It’s as good a vegan roast as I’ve had, with loads of meat and potatoes. We also had the spicy chicken burger for good measure, which wasn’t stacked, but came with a lot of chips. Finally when another vegan place in the neighbourhood was open for dine-in my friend and I took advantage of happy hour to get cheap G&Ts and a $15 fish burger. I’d left Melbourne to escape the Melbourne Cup and it turned out the pub had been having a ‘Nup to the Cup’ event that afternoon, which I was gutted I hadn’t known about. It’s not perfect, but I do love this new vegan pub in Sydney.

Just what I’ve been waiting for - Edit
Everything I wanted and more! Been here 5 times now and am slowly getting through the menu. Cheese burger is my fav burger, comes with a generous serving of fries. The Parma with gravy is my fav clover but is close to the nachos. Again, generous servings. Specials throughout the week with incredible prices! Desserts. Are. Out. Of. This. World! Love the cheesecake cups!!!
