First of all the food was quite good.

I don’t like the atmosphere too much that’s why i deduct one star.

A Jaffna institution - Edit
Clearly this is one of the best established eateries in bustling, downtown Jaffna, and it's almost as busy inside as the surrounding area. Judging from other pictures, it's been serving up classic dishes for a long time. I went w/ dhosas, and the curry was above average. Friendly service is necessary to guide the foreign customer through some well established procedures (such as the banana-leaf self-bussing & dedicated garbage chute), which can be a little intimidating when dining here for the first time.

Cheap, tasty and authentic - Edit
This place was busy so I always take that as a good sign. Cheap, tasty, friendly staff and the manager speaks a decent level of English although the rest of the staff didn't seem to. The food is served on a banana leaf (how fun)! There's no cutlery so you gotta eat with your hands - cutlery may be available but I didn't ask.

This great bustling vegetarian eatery in the heart of Jaffna's main shopping district is a bit rough around the edges. But it makes up for its appearance by providing nice and cheap Sri Lankan and Indian food (served on fresh banana leaves no less)
