Vegan & Allium-Free Coffeeshop

Relocated and rebranded! Instead of their previous coffeeshop concept, they're now a restaurant. Apart from retaining some of their bestselling dishes such as wanton mee, fish soup ramen, and mala, they have introduced lots of new dishes including Sarawak cuisine (the boss’ wife is from Sarawak, you can be sure it’s authentic)! Fully vegan and allium-free, tasty and very wallet friendly, run by a sincere couple~ Do also check out their retail corner selling vegan snacks and CNY goodies! 7min walk from Jalan Besar MRT.

Good food and beverages and good service

It was almost 9pm and we rushed to get in our orders before the kitchen closed. The walk from transit was a bit odd as there were some ladies nearby that seemed shady.

We had a Black Pink - Strawberry and Chocolate combination drink. A little sour/tart and sweet with chocolate and cocoa powder in top. Amazing.

Vegan Fried Chicken Nasi Lemak - Rich Coconut Rice, the pandan flavour a lot milder and fried chicken was very good. Sambal not so spicy. No peanuts. Fried vegan pork bits very nice and beans perfect.

Signature Fried Rice. - The quantity a little less. A little less flavour that what we like and a bit dry just to have it on it’s own. We ordered another but it came a bit later

A bowl of Claypot Black Bean Tofu - came in piping hot. The tofu pieces perfectly spot and soup mixture full of beans and sour soup. A. It spicy and some veggies.

Lots of dishes that we wanted to try but couldn’t l. Hopefully again when we visit Singapore again.

Good Food very nice drinks

The food was good especially the mok duck. Rice was perfectly cooked. The drinks are arranged with nice flower toppings. The ordered noodles and Wantan were cold and a little bit tasteless. Would recommend to go for rice dishes.

Pros: Nice variety of mock meats, Drinks(Passionfruit and Yuzu) very nice

Nice Vegetarian Place near ICA Building

If you need to come down to ICA Building for your passport or IC can walk here after your appointment or while waiting for your IC or passport. Just a 10mins walk from ICA very near!

The food is very nice, my favourite is the Chwee Kway and the Fried You Tiao. The environment is very nice too, have aircon! The staff are very friendly as well.

Waited.....

Thrilled that Makan Vegan is back after their Geylang branch closure! I visited today and tried their salted black bean 'fish' – it was delicious, with a great balance of flavors. I’m happy to see that their prices are still reasonable too. Looking forward to returning and trying more of their dishes!

Pros: Cosy place, Dishes is out fast

Cons: May face parking problem, Seating too little

Affordable and so good!

So nice to be able to experience a hawker’s market with lots of options! My laksa was so delicious and affordable. I went to the next stall and also got tea & dim sum which was also so good! Definitely recommend coming here😄

Decent dishes

The laksa was great, the other two dishes get a pass. Wish I could have tried more, but I had no more room in the tank. Overall, it was very decent!

Completely caught by surprise

I was totally unaware that this is the place as it looks like a non vegan eatery hawker! When I looked closely I realized I came to the right place with lots of hawker choices made vegan! Such as the duck rice, wan tan mee, nasi lemak, fish bee hoon, mala etc. All their drinks are vegan too! I ordered the green milk tea (oat)

Pros: Wan Tan Mee, Milk Tea, Siew Mai

Good food and prices

Geylang, once known for its red-light district, is now a cool spot for durian lovers. It’s just a short walk from the MRT, and in the early evening, the restaurant feels pleasantly warm and inviting with its open-air setup.

Makan Vegan has a pretty good menu, though some of the kids’ and western options we saw online weren’t available. The staff were super friendly and helped us pick some great dishes. We went with the lor mee, dry wonton noodles, and laksa, plus a spring roll and some fried yuba. The laksa was a bit spicy but still nice.

Overall, everyone was happy with the food. If you’re in Geylang and have some time, I Makan Vegan is a chill spot worth checking out.

Pros: Staff, Food, 100%

Vegan Food

The staff is friendly and helpful when it comes to choosing a dish. I tried the wanton fried noodles, which were served dry with a side of soup. The wantons were in the soup, and they accommodated my request to make it spicy. Additionally, the curry puff was delicious and not greasy. The prices are affordable.

Pros: Budget friendly

Inexpensive and delicious

This place is a gem. Made the 10 min walk from the mtr station and was kind of bummed to see it was an open air restaurant as I was hot. That didn’t stop me from eating, of course. Ordered the dry wonton noodles, which were great. Also ordered their shu mai and lotus leaf rice. Both were good as well. I wish this place was closer to my accommodation so I could try more menu items.

Best spot in Singapore

Went here multiple times. Best vegan food in Singapore and really cheap. Tried multiple dishes. Favourites were the won ton noodles, bao buns and Chinese dumplings. The fruit tea is also great!

Local Vegan Delights

When I was overwhelmed by the choices available, a very friendly staff member greeted me and shared their best sellers with me. It helped because we ended up ordering all the best sellers. Everything was good but our favorites were Wanton noodles and laksa, so delicious! I heard that their Mala Xiang Guo is a must-try too, so I took some back to try with my hubby. Really shiok!🔥

These are what we ordered:
🍜 Wanton Noodles
🥣 Laksa
🐠 Fish Slice Noodles
🍚 Duck Rice
🥟 Fried Wanton
🌶 Mala Xiang Guo

If they use fish and duck, how is it vegan? Or is it mock meat?

Normal is its key that makes their food nostalgic and comforting.

Makan Vegan is what a vegan restaurant should be. The overall approach to the restaurant is like a normal hawker that Singaporeans and tourists are familiar with. I like how the food is priced. No fancy presentation, and it is what makes it sooooo comforting and nostlgic.

Pros: Price, Taste and Portion, Ambience

The atmosphere could be more welcoming. And the staff more friendly.
To get an overview about the menu is really hard.

Vegan hawker centre

It’s a bit of a trek to get here and it was good but not great although I’m glad it exists. I enjoyed the mock chicken and rice dish more than the laksa which my partner ordered and liked. The drinks were good. Some of the staff were a bit unfriendly. It’s not entirely clear but they’re all separate stalls with separate payments required despite all being under the same brand. There’s a little shop around the corner attached to this too and they were giving out free samples when we were there

A bit salty but delicious

Feels like a food court from which you can choose which to eat and pay ^^
The black noodles and rice were salty to me, the spicy noodles was good - like hot curry flavor.
The nut milk tea was good!
They have hot pot too definitely try later

Fully vegan hawker Centre

Fully vegan hawker Centre. It’s small but there are plenty of options and everything is very cheap. Just worth noting that Mala (a type of pepper) makes your mouth go numb but other than that the food is good!

Pros: All vegan , Cheap

Satisfy cravings

The taste is so good, reminds me of what I've eaten prior to becoming a vegetarian. I've yet to try it all. The wanton noodle is excellent, noodle taste and texture is really good and wanton is smooth unlike other vegetarian ones. Portion is just nice, not too little, and I'm going to come back for more again. They also sell bottle herbal drinks from my favourite brand. The place is airy with lots of fans. Doesn't smell when frying as they have a good system.

Makan Vegan, Geylang, Singapore

I've eaten here 2 or 3 times. Normal sort of cheap and cheerful food. I like their soup. Food here won't win healthiness awards (mock meat, fried), but this place is still a useful pit stop.
