Options! But pricey - Edit
The food here was very nice and there was a good vegan selection/veganizable selection with hype options. It is also attached to a grocery store/produce market with lots of vegan products available. Also, all the cookies were vegan and the peanut butter cookie slapped. A bit pricey, but a solid cafe/grocery/food place with a forager reuben with mushrooms, and sourkrout, plus pickles and vegan cheddar If you want to pay extra, avocado toast with tofu scramle and more. I bought miyoko's mozzarella from the grocery store, which I'm so excited for since I've never had it/had access to it

Gourmet market with vegan options - Edit
Since first visiting in 2020 this spot has vastly expanded to become a large specialty shop encompassing the entire footprint of the ground floor. Although omnivore heavy as everything in the Catskills there are plenty of grocery, snack and prepared menu items which are vegan friendly. The in-house menu specifically denotes which items are and can be made to order vegan, not only limited to beverages like some other spots in the area. There is also ample seating both inside/outside for appropriate weather - out front are duplex Adirondack chairs and out back features stools overlooking the stream.
Read moreI'm not as regular as some may be but I usually visit a few times per month. They're open 8-8 for earlybirds and I think their dinner menu may end around 4pm which means the kitchen is closed on par with that of any other cafe. But this place has more which you can def grab and go. Not easy to see from outside but there is a glass display case with vegan yogurt, other natural drinks, sandwiches and salads next to the cafe counter, which "after cafe hours" can be rung up on the other side of the market.
Good spot to either dine-in, grab & go or linger. Some items can also be considered at a premium but you don't find vegan jerky everywhere in the Catskill mountains!
Worthwhile to check out when you are even remotely nearby.

Was hoping for charming - Edit
There's not a lot of options in the area for sure so we were hoping this would be one of those warm, cozy, feel good places where you just want to have a great lunch and linger over some great hot coffee. And you're ok with a limited vegan menu because the place has such great atmosphere. We were disappointed upon arrival to feel how cold it was inside and it's not really a restaurant, more so a market with a counter where you can order food and a few tables. Like other reviews, the staff can be kinda cold and unfriendly but some were nicer than others. We went twice and both experiences were similar. It's a shame that they don't care more about their customer service. I guess they are one of the main gigs in town and locals don't mind. The vegan options are actually very limited. The reuben is basically mushrooms and cheese which was very good but kinda plain. They had a vegan chili and that was it for soup options. Their menu on their website says they have 3 vegan soups, not true. It seems like they have 3 soups each day, and 2 were meat. They do have amazing vegan cookies. And salads, but on a cold day, we were hoping for other warm options and there were none.
Read moreInteresting that this is on their website: "It’s the kind of place where you want to cozy up with a good book (or a friend, either works) and stay for hours". That's exactly the feeling I was hoping for but it's the opposite. We couldn't wait to leave.
In warm weather, definitely head to the vegan market down the road where they are super nice!
Pros: Very good vegan freshly baked cookies, A few vegan staples in the market
Cons: Unfriendly staff, Very limited vegan options, Very cold inside
