An essential institution in any incarnation, a tour de force of local flavor - Edit
This is Mae Sai’s best vegan buffet, but the no-frills presentation and bustling (very graphic butcher stands lining the market) setting will probably scare a lot of farang vegetarians away. One can’t fully appreciate it before eating here at least 5-10 times (I’d estimate they’ve fed me over 80 lunches, and I’m heartbroken to have to stop).
Read moreFor 2021-22 the location & sign are the same, the quality and variety of dishes seem at least as good as previous reviews state, but the owners/operators, display, interior dining area, and store offerings are different. I enjoy chatting with them in Mandarin twice a week and getting Mae Sai’s freshest, tastiest, and spiciest buffet meals with the largest portions in town for the price. This is a place for someone who finds other vegan buffets (or N.Thai restaurant fare) bland and wishes someone would dare to take the flavor to 11. They don’t do subtle, and while I don’t necessarily prefer a cannonball of full-scale palate attack, every meal here is like an exciting journey or even an adventure. I often have to ask for extra rice to finish.
It really seems like a harmonious operation the way the whole family and staff prepare the vegetables together every day for the next day’s trays. They only take a few days off for Spring Festival, and otherwise I’m amazed they’re open seven days a week all year like clockwork. Often after biking in vain to other vegan buffets in town, finding each unexpectedly closed, this place will be an open lifesaver. They employ locals and deserve our full financial support (thankfully they also seem to be doing brisk business and be popular enough not to need us).
I try to get there by 11 before they sell out of some dishes, though they also offer dinner on Buddhist holidays. They can close as early as noon and are usually gone by 1pm.
Pros: huge portions and rarely over 50 baht for a meal , very interesting to watch the market while dining, Ate here 2x/wk for a year & still find new dishes
Cons: old drink pics look good--would make perfection, sometimes very very very spicy & limited options, limited English spoken

Tasty all vegan Thai food - Edit
Definitely one of the best places in Mae Sai for vegan food! Really nice owners, there’s always something different in their selection and most of it is really tasty. Great price and nice area around the fresh food market.

Great find in the fresh food market. - Edit
Pin and Po are vegan chef sisters who are conscious of health and taste and that reflects in the 'economy rice' set that I ate.
Read moreThere must be 30 different plant foods in the meal and juice with a complimentary herbal drink.
I had 3 meals there whilst doing my 'visa run' and all great!
Spacious place with good ventilation and lots health food and herbal items for sale . Buffet based with a la carte options on request.
Pros: Good range of dishes and tastes, Take out available, Friendly chef owners
Cons: Next door to some meat grill
