Brilliant community run cafe, vegan and donations only for food. - Edit
Wonderful vegan cafe, hidden down an alleyway, just down the street from the Gendenkstatte museum, Lindenstrasse 54/55. Pay what you like. Only one option, but choice of teas and even a small clothes, also pay what you like, shop. Friendly staff and the pasta and sauce was delicious.

Sehr sehr gut!! - Edit
Super schön!!
Read moreKeine Touristen.
Sehr ruhig.
A very nice terrace, im eine schöne Hof.
They make food just like at home. Local & organic products. Full or half plate. Cheap/fair. You can actually give set your own (fair) price. Alcohol free. Homemade tea/cold tea.
We had a very nice time.
If you live in Potsdam and you have time, you can go and help.
Also, we were there at 15h and they were still open, despite what says the app... ;)
Pros: Ruhig, keinen Touristen, fair.
Cons: Kein!!

Very friendly, alternative atmosphere - Edit
We came in for lunch and had soup, a full meal and salad plus coffee and drinks. The people were very friendly and motivated and the Rice with Pumpkin/Beets/Carrot sauce was really jummy.

Pros: Regional, saisonal food, chatty, friendly people, alternative concept

Refused service one hour before closing - Edit
Bad. Really bad customer service.
Read moreAfter walking around Sanssouci Park one August afternoon, the whole group was famished and this was a planned stop to get some vegan refreshments. We got there a few minutes after 14:00, but despite even their displayed hours indicating closing time of 15:00, we were refused to be served. They explained that the process of closing had begun, and kitchen was closed. They offered us only coffee. They saw that we had small kids in our group, but could care less. Unbelievable!
Hey Madia, if you don't want to service customers after 14:00, post a different closing time then!
Wish I could give it one or no stars!

Cons: Hours of business are unreliable, Bad customer service

Cutie, you're welcome to volunteer yourself, as all these “service people” do in Madia. For free.

jh72de,
Read moreI'm probably quite ugly. Maybe that's why they didn't want to feed us.
Had I known I could "volunteer", I would've hopped over the counter and made myself and my family lunch.
Would have expected friendlier disposition from such a "community" establishment.

delicious home made food - Edit
Very cozy place where they offer freshly made lunch on weekdays. You can watch them prepare the food and chat with the owners/cooks. Also, the guests themselves decide on how much one pays for the meal. Just one star less because we had to ask several times for a bowl of soup.

Stopped by for lunch, but no one home! - Edit
We dropped by today (Monday) for lunch between 13:00 and 14:00 only to find no one home! According to the posted hours (Happy Cow and their own web page), they should have been available. We saw no notice of explanation such as an emergency necessitating store closure. Frustrated to say the least, as the Happy Cow information looked so promising. We hope in the future they will be able to keep more reliable hours.

Similar experience, just a few days earlier, also in August of 2018. They were still open, but refused to serve us when we came a little after 14:00. Very disappointing.

lacked of protein.. - Edit
I was really disappointed to see only dish they had was a plate of couscous with potato and zucchini. I think vegan / vegetarian restaurants should know better and add protein in the portions..
