My mom said the mole was her the best she’s ever had! She’s not usually a big fan of Mexican food but she loved this place. My burrito was giant and they stuffed it full of yummy vegan fillings. Horchata was great too!

Good food but it might help if you’ve learned Spanish - Edit
I decided to get takeout from this restaurant for Cinco de Mayo of 2023. In this case it was a vegan burrito. By the time I arrived, they were nearly done with it, so that was good. The only real issue I encountered was when I tried to pay for my food and go as the lady at the payment desk did not know English. The other people there did come over to help me, and I was allowed to pay with my credit card. I ate my burrito as soon as I got to my college, and it was honestly more delicious than what I usually get at Chipotle.  I’ll definitely return as a customer to try their other vegan foods next chance I get, but probably not until I’ve learned to speak Spanish as close to fluently as possible, so that the language barrier won’t be an issue next time.

Best restaurant experience in a long time - Edit
My whole family loved the food and it was a great value. The waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable about all the vegan options. The music was too loud where we were sitting, and after taking our order the waitress turned it down without us even asking.

Tried this place for the first time. Pleasantly surprised. Vegan section on the menu was very nice. My wife tried the Hurrache and I had the Churritos. Both very good. Owner and staff very friendly. The waitress only spoke Spanish so the cook came out and interpreted for her which was fine and my wife got to practice her Spanish! 😊

A lot of vegan options that aren’t the typical things you would see elsewhere. Vegan ceviche was fantastic, also enjoyed my “chorizo” and potato enchiladas with Daiya cheese. The salsa is a warm and spicy one that was packed with flavor.
Read moreThis was the second time dining here and only returned by the insistence of others to give it another chance. Unfortunately our service this time was just as bad as the first visit. Orders were messed up and it took two hours to get ceviche and two entrees despite there only being a few other tables there at the time. Another negative is the only sauces they carry are commercial bottled hot sauce options.
I will order from here again since there are so many options and I enjoyed what I had. I will just take it to go from now on.

Today was my first time trying Luna and I was pleasantly shocked to find a Mexican restaurant that had a vegan menu. Their ingredients are fresh and packed with so much authentic Mexican flavor. The vegan tacos are amazing and the vegan enchiladas 😋😋😋😋. I highly recommend Luna Mexican! Great food, great service!

I expected your run of the mill dry veggie taco but instead I was blown away by the delicious food and the attention to detail! I got chorizo flautas and potato flautas. I was offered my choice of vegan sour cream and cheese. The waitress even inquired about food allergies when I ordered some veggie tacos. This place is located in a regular neighborhood that I didn’t have to drive an hour to get to! I cannot stop raving about it! This is my new taco joint!!!

Not only was the service great, the food was too! The Vegan chorizo and potato taco was sooo good! My husband had the vegan burrito which was huge! The rice was delicious, I also had a vegan gordita which was sooo delicious! We will definitely be back! The server was so sweet and accommodating.

Our server was very pleasant and cute! Great chips n salsa for starters. Since they were not as busy they handmade our tortillas from scratch! Super delighted about that, and the food exceeded our expectations! The vegan chorizo and vegan sour cream were delectable among my plate of sautéed veggies including potatoes!! beans, and all the fixing on top of the handmade corn tortilla! Delicious. Solid meal in an area with few options - Edit
After driving over 6 hours to go to a wedding in Joliet, my boyfriend and I were in a serious crunch to get something yummy and filling to eat after not eating for the length of our drive. Luna’s was the perfect find, it was quiet and spacious and the perfect place to take a load off. We didn’t catch the name of our waitress but she was the loveliest and most welcoming woman we’ve encountered in the food industry in quite a while. She was very attentive, always making sure our glasses were full and nothing else was needed. The vegan menu had a few options and the customizable taco/burrito/tostado/flota selection was so convenient. My boyfriend and I both chose the burrito with rice, beans, vegan cheese, mixed greens, potatoes and soyrizo and it was BOMB! The serving size was more than hearty and for $9 I feel like it was definitely worth it. It’s not some upscale, Michelin star restaurant; but it’s a place I could definitely see myself becoming a regular at if I was a local and craving a good Mexican meal.

Super friendly service! Offers vegetarian and vegan options, including vegan cheese and vegan chorizo! My boyfriend and I both got the vegan burrito- it was big, filled with potatoes, vegan chorizo, vegan cheese, and all the other fixings. It was delicious!! We live an hour away but we are already planning when to come back. Yum!!

More than just guac... - Edit
My husband and I went on a Saturday night. We were greeted immediately. The place didn't have many people there so we were able to ask lots of questions. Since none of the vegan options are on the menu, the waitress asked us what we wanted (e.g., gordita, enchiladas, burrito, etc). They have soy chorizo, daiya cheese, no lard in beans, no chicken stock in the rice, and no sour cream in the guac. Woo-hoo!!! She even said they had "crema" but were out (guessing vegan sour cream?). I had the enchiladas with red sauce. They were filled with potatoes and soy chorizo. My husband had a burrito stuffed with all sorts of veggies, beans, daiya, and soy chorizo. Both were very good. The veggies in the burrito were not super oily either. We both had a "dinner" to add the rice and beans. Wow, yum! The guac was a nice serving and very tasty. Chips were great too. All of this and water to drink for $20! Even the plates were beautiful. One of the owners said they were handmade in Mexico. I thanked them for having vegan options and requested that they add them to the menu. They said that they will be redoing the menu and plan to add them. Overall, great experience.

Found this great place on the Happy Cow app when I was doing a road trip. Very glad I checked it out. The waitress was very welcoming and accommodating. There is a vegan section in the menu with several dishes. Delicious and huge servings. Was so impressed that I stopped in again on my return trip. If you're in the south Chicago area definitely check it out!
