Had a sweet potato and chickpea curry with buckwheat and braised fennel - pretty tasty even if lacking spice (but that’s a general Swiss problem). Disappointed to see that employees were not wearing masks. Have a nice collection of books as well (in French and English) and a few grocery items.

The appetizer, main plate, and dessert did not disappoint at all. The chef did not speak much English but we were able to communicate enough. He was so, so friendly. Will definitely be back again to try more delicious meals 🙂

Les plats sont crus les jeudis : succulents et idéal pour faire le plein d'énergie ! La cuisine est cuite les vendredis et samedis, et c'est toujours un voyage à travers des saveurs, textures et couleurs sans cesse renouvelées !
De plus, de nombreux livres de recettes, mais aussi dédiés aux droits des animaux, à l'éthique animale ou la santé sont à acheter ou emprunter.

The LSCV Happy Books Cafe is three things in one: a cafe, a library, and a bookstore specializing in books on vegan themes. Guests are welcome to read any of the books in the cafe (even the ones that are meant for sale). They serve food at lunch and drinks all the time.

I was already a lot there. You can always choose between 2 starters (salad or soup), 2 main dishes and 2 or sometimes even more desserts (one of them is always fruit salad). The menu changes every week. The staff is friendly and attentive. You can even have a second serving if you haven't had enough. The food is really delicious and creative. Some of it is even organic. The price is up to you to decide, since it's "prix libre".

Adorable little place! - Edit
If you ever end up in Fribourg, you have to visit this little cafe! It's a very small library and center for animal rights (LSCV is an organization against vivisection). They have all kinds of vegan pamphlets and cookbooks in French and German.
Read moreEvery Thursday to Saturday from 12-3PM they offer cooked meals (a choice between two entrees, two main courses and two desserts). And it's reeeaaally good food. Simple, nothing super fancy, but always good. Very friendly and helpful staff and it's all on a free price basis too (wich means you can decide how much you want to pay).
An amazing place in a town, that usually isn't that easy for vegans.

Great Café - Edit
I found this Cafe via HappyCow while travelling through Fribourg. It's only been open a few weeks. The staff are lovely and the place is filled with books, mostly in Veganism. You can take them home for 30 days or you can buy books they have for sale there too. I was with friends who ordered coffee and I got a heated mug of Soya chocolate (they offered that as I asked for hot chocolate) which was delish! and we got a complimentary fruit salad each. will definitely be back if I'm in Fribourg again!
