The good news is they do have a dedicated section of the menu that is vegan (sausages, fries, and fried mushrooms). Just ignore that everything else on the menu involves duck fat. I have had the vegan fried oyster mushrooms twice. They are a big serving for a side. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure the mushrooms are coated in rock salt, battered with salt and some flour, they sprinkled with a liberal amount of salt. They are a good concept and could easily be great, but somewhere the chef must have heard that vegans like things that are well beyond edible salty. I really want to like them, but the salt….. One other thing if you go: they add the tip onto your bill, so read your bill carefully if/when deciding to leave a second tip.
The fried oyster mushrooms were a huge winner either as an appetizer or in the poor boy sandwich. One my next visit I had the lentil burger and it was not as exciting. I still have to try the vegan sausages on a pretzel roll.
