Plant Milk Party Poopers

Really nice place with a local atmosphere. At least 3 vegan sweet options including a cinnamon bun and chocolate and banana cake. There’s also a vegan savoury sandwich. The coffee is excellent but watch out for the 40p plant milk tax!

Pros: Nice cakes

Cons: Charge for plant milk

Sip, Chill, Shop

MY RATING: ★★★½
I found Lovecrumbs to be a fun and cute place. It's great for reading a book on a rainy day, grabbing a sweet vegan treat, or catching up with an old friend. As long as you don't stay overstay your welcome, that is. ;)

The OAT MILK CAPPUCCINO was frothy and creamy, but overall it was just okay. Not the best, not the worst, right in the middle.

I loved the icing on the VEGAN CARROT CAKE. It was smooth and sweet, but not too sweet. It also had a pop of citrus. As for the cake, I was underwhelmed. It was lacking in carrot flavor and was denser than I'd prefer. However, I did enjoy the big chunks of nuts and raisins.

SIGNS:
"Weekends are lap top free"
"If busy, please limit your stay to an hour.. thanks for being cool." -_-

You can watch my visit to Lovecrumbs and see all of the vegan food I ate in Edinburgh on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw-0mh0q3iM&t=1s

Delicious vegan sweet & savoury snacks

We popped in to get some take-away food for our journey and bought a cinnamon bun, a peanut butter chocolate crinkle cookie and two grilled cheese sandwiches. The staff was super friendly and fast. There was a third amazing vegan cake on the menue that we didn‘t buy. The atmosphere in the Café is really nice. Good place for sit in as well.

No vegan cakes

The place tries hard to provide a laid back and relaxed atmosphere, but this is slightly tempered by the board with "LIST OF HOUSE RULES" printed on. The staff often seem keen to get you out as soon as possible, probably because it's so busy. I've heard the vegan cakes are good, but have been unable to test them for myself as they have been unavailable each time I've visited.

Not a single vegan cake

We went here on our trip to Edinburgh because they are on happy cow and we were craving some cake after lunch. Unfortunately, while they had 5 or 6 different cakes, none of them were vegan, which was very disappointing and meant we didn't even stay for coffee, which probably would have been very good (their coffee maker looked amazing)

Cons: No vegan cakes when we dropped in

Great cakes and brownies

They've really improved their range of vegan options in the last year. They now usually have at least one or two cakes you can have by the slice, as well as brownies, cinnamon buns and other smaller items. The quality is really good too, the cinnamon buns in particular are great, although I could do with even more icing.

Great cake

Lovecrumbs has long been a favourite of mine as they always have such interesting flavours. When I went they had three vegan options, I had the chocolate peanut crinkle and it was absolutely delicious. They also had oat milk for tea

Quirky!

I really enjoyed my visit to Lovecrumbs. The decor is just gorgeous. And on my visit there were several vegan cake and savoury options in the counter. They also have a small menu, I chose jam on sourdough toast which was lovely. They dont serve vegan butter which was slightly disappointing and I think they did charge extra for the oat milk.

small menu

A limited menu. I think the day i went they only had two types of sandwich, one was vegan.
A diver for. A huge doorstop of black olive tapenade and veg. Great stuff.
Had a couple of vegan cakes and I opted for the Parma violet cake, great chocolate sponge and the childhood memories on top. Yum.

Pros: staff, chilled

Cons: meat
