Awesome little all vegan cafe - Edit
Vegan cafe and small store. Small selection of meals and toasties, all delicious. Lots of slices and biscuits, pies and focaccias too. And very friendly staff.
Read moreHave had the smashed avo (with vegan feta), pesto toastie and açai bowl. Have taken home lemon cheesecake slice, biscoff cookie, and apple and sage sausages.
And a macadamia milk latte might be the new go to when available.

Great toasties! - Edit
Toasties were so good and they also have a variety of other food items. Their vegan croissant was so good, a bit pricey but worth it for the sheer size of it.

Such yummy toasties and baclava - Edit
I’m visiting from Bris I found them on happy cow and I had such lovely food. Baclavas, chilli hot chocolate and the BLT toastie. The bread was really yum and salted to perfection. Hoping to come back. Definitely come here if you’re looking for some wholesome food. They also sell some yummy pantry vegan items and vegan lollies/chocolate.

Delicious food and near public transport - Edit
14/07/24 it’s been a while but I went with a vegan group today. It’s an easy train ride from flinders st (or Frankston if coming from the other direction) and then a 5 min walk. I ordered the cheesy toasty and a double espresso with a mint hot chocolate. The staff were absolutely lovely. I loved the toastie and the drinks. So delicious and I bought a couple of yummy treats from there too.
Read moreWe came here for breakfast. I’ve been wanting to try it for a while. I had a large coffee with soy and was delighted that dark chocolate was on top. There are a few table ps inside with 6-8 chairs at each plus a bench. I ordered the big breakfast and was very very full. The rosti was particularly delicious and I liked that there were bits of everything so you could try a few different things. I liked that you gave a choice of different breads. My partner had the pancakes. Some syrup would be lovely with them but they tasted nice. The menu looked quite long and I must admit I didn’t read all of it as I saw the big madre! Id like to go here again.

Great little vegan cafe - Edit
Wonderful to have a 100% vegan cafe. I had the mushroom and cheese toastie which was yum. Can’t wait to try the other items. It’s a very small place with friendly staff.

I really do Love Madre 💜 - Edit
I have warm fuzzy feelings about this place. The fare is simple but it ticks a lot of boxes: a small, genuinely vegan, family-run business. I’ve been making a point of coming in weekly for coffee and lunch to support it in this tough economic climate, and it’s a pleasure to do so. I’ve made my way through the toastie menu, all so tasty, substantial and decadently messy. I’m a big fan of the Italian sandwich with its strong flavours - pepperoni, sundried tomato, olives - but the parma and souvlakiI toasties are also delicious as well as substantial with their meats, and the cheesy mushroom, BLT and pesto are all tasty and lighter. I love the cosy atmosphere and the specialty plant-based items. I bought a decent brie a couple of weeks ago for a work meeting. I particularly love the warm and friendly staff who create such a lovely vibe and, along with the delicious toasties, always make me look forward to my next visit .

Cheltenham’s finest ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I realise as I write this that it’s three years to the day since I wrote my last review for LM. It feels very different from what I remember, with more of a focus on takeaway and take-home, deli and pantry products, but there is still a full menu. Prices are very reasonable for things like smashed avo ($16), the cheeseburger ($16) The staff were super friendly, helpful and chatty and really made the cafe a nice place to be. I ordered the Italian focaccia, with salami, pesto and cheese, which was a really decent size for $15. It was delicious did not disappoint at all. I made a second visit today before I posted the review and ordered the nachos. While they were priced a bit higher than other things, they were absolutely huge, intended for two people or more I imagine, but I finished them on my own. I might’ve wanted a bit more salsa or something acidic or citrusy to cut through the carbs, beans, avo and cheese though, which all made it pretty heavy. This is a great lunch spot though and an asset for Cheltenham.

My favourite local vegan spot!
Read moreI almost always get a Cheeseburger Toastie ($16), but everything I've tried on their extensive menu is delicious - I've never had a bad meal here!
They offer six different toasties, full meals including: smashed avo, açai bowl, and nachos, as well as a range of sweet and savoury pastries. They also have a small grocery section with both pantry items and fridge goods including vegan cheese and mock meats.
The staff are lovely and worth a visit!

OMG soo good! - Edit
The cheesy mushroom toastie was absolutely delicious. The cheese was so melty, the mushrooms were generously flavoured with garlic and thyme, and the red onion really was the perfect addition to the mix, flavourful but not overpowering.
Read moreI can't wait to go back to try the pesto, and souvlaki toasties.
We also got the espresso martini bar, which was quite dark/bitter chocolate, and I'm pretty sure was a raw dessert, which I don't enjoy.
Mixed souvlaki toastie: good with fresh salad, but can taste the coconut in the tzatziki, and not enough garlic or dill.

We always get the smashed avo every time and is still my very favourite place to go. Also had the mixed souvlaki toastie which was amazing to no suprise. You will not regret - Edit
We moved to the area a few months ago and this immediately became our favourite Cafe. Really great range of food and everything i have tried has been 10/10, but the BLT is my favourite. It's so nice to have vegan food that isn't just the "healthy whole food" type variety . You will not regret eating at Love Madre

Absolutely perfect - Edit
Love Madre honestly has it all. Fully vegan menu with loads of options for all sorts of tastes. We tried two different original paninis, both were so full of flavour and filling as well. We also tried a creamy mushroom pie which was super tasty, as well as several sweet treats (a cookie sandwich and two of the muffins) which were all amazing. The staff were so smiley, friendly, attentive and fun. They also took extra care after learning about my nut allergy. I would go to Love Madre every day if I could!
