Great options - Edit
Lovely and diverse menu with lots of vegan options including 2 cakes (at time of visit). I had the vegan full english which was incredible an oat latte and ginger smoothie which were delicious. Friendly staff but the layout of the restaurant was quite sanitary and canteen like.

Delicious breakfast - Edit
I recently had brunch at Loudons after a last minute change and I'm so happy we did. We were a big group and the staff was friendly and happy to accommodate for us. They have multiple vegan options and the quality of their menu is excellent. They may be one of the few places where I've had baked beans that didn't come out of a Heinz tin lol.
Read moreTheir vegan haggis and black pudding were fantastic, their beans were delicious and food was delivered very quickly.
I would 100% recommend Loudons to anybody in Edinburgh and will certainly consider visiting anytime I'm in town again.
Pros: Best baked beans I've ever had, Vegan Haggis is a must

Delicious breakfast - Edit
Amazing vegan breakfast. Delicious potato cake, veggie haggis and veggie black pudding. Yummy homemade baked beans. Avocado toast was also great. There were other vegan choices too. Great service even when busy.

Tasty, big portions and really nice personnel - Edit
We were happy to find a vegan breakfast on an early Monday morning in Edinburgh! The vegan options are good (could be more of course 😅). Also the breakfast tasted well, even though it could have been a little bit more spiced. We also enjoyed the coconut pancakes with vegan cream as well! 😍 Waitress was super nice also.

Cons: Breakfast could have been a bit more spiced

Lots of veggie options but mine was bad. - Edit
Veggie power bowl was very very small portion. The three falafel balls were tasteless, dry, and the worst falafel I’ve ever had. The cauliflower mash was completely tasteless. Should have been half the price as those portion sizes.

Good breakfast - Edit
We are staying in a hotel next door and were drawn in because of a board outside saying vegan breakfast options. Pleased to find somewhere that opens early on a Sunday. Vegan breakfast was different and not just a run of the mill token effort - included haggis and a beetroot bake thingy. Plenty of other vegan options too.

Best ever full breakfast - Edit
Several vegan options. We had the full vegan breakfast and coconut and banana pancakes - both delicious. My daughter said the hot chocolate was best vegan hot choc ever. Mango and coconut smoothie was delicious. Full vegan brekkie contained potato cake, beetroot fritters, vegan haggis, asparagus, mushroom, tomato, home made baked beans and toast - superb! And a nice change from full breakfasts that replicate a full English ( maybe as we are in Scotland???). Excellent, friendly service.

Nice, friendly but a little lacking in character - Edit
Loudons is a fantastic place for vegans with plenty of options on the menu and friendly and knowledgeable staff. But, it is a little lacking in character feeling a bit like a dining room and, while the pancake dish was a great size it was a bit lacking in different flavours so I got quite bored half way through.

Clean but overpriced - Edit
Great service and was happy to be told the veggie breakfast, which included a mock haggis, could be made vegan without eggs so subbed for avo. We also tried the vegan eggs benedict. Both were reasonable but nothing to write home about. Not the slap up Scottish breakfast we were hoping for and didn't feel it warranted the price. I'm sure there must be plenty other places in the city for a better vegan breakie.

Great brunch - lots of options - Edit
Lovely and spacious spot in New Waverley. Great place if you are with omnivorous friends as they have plenty of options to suit everyone. Had the vegan benny (muffin with hummus, cauliflower, spinach and romesco sauce) with tea and a carrot, ginger and apple juice. All delicious. Friend had the full breakfast which he said was lovely. Would definitely go back and recommend.

Great vegan brunch - Edit
Love the new location at New Waverley - it seems there are more covers here than at their Fountainbridge cafe, so you're less likely to be stuck in a queue for a table during the weekend.
Read moreLoudons has lots of options for vegan breakfast and lunch. Their menu labelling isn't very clear, but the staff are happy to help adapt dishes to whatever dietary requirements you have, including vegan and gluten-free.
Their spiced sultana pancakes are vegan, their full veggie breakfast can be made vegan and their hot filled rolls have lots of vegan filling options including vegetarian haggis, veggies sausages and potato scones.
The vegan benny is my personal favourite, with garlic spinach, roasted courgette and mint aioli.
Pros: Delicious food, More tables than Fountainbridge
Cons: Some vegan options are not obviously labelled
