Good but service was disappointing - Edit
The service was really slow, we saw our beverages on the bar, waiting that the waitress brought them to us, after about 10 minutes... Staff was not really welcoming. Food was good, happily. But service could be better.

Extensive menu - Edit
The place was a little hard to find at first but I got there in the end. Large selection to choose from, the staff understand veganism. I tried the shark fin soup and didn't know what to expect but it was really good. The Satay skewers were tasty and I really enjoyed the bean curd skin dim sum. I found it a bit strange that you have to pay to use the wet wipe that's on your table especially when no napkins are provided! 🤣

Amazing Chinese - Edit
Have visited Lotus a number of times and have been impressed with each visit. Delicious food all around but highly recommend the duck pancakes. So happy we stumbled upon this restaurant, it rivals the vegan Chinese food found in Hong Kong, which is no easy feat!

Delicious Chinese Cuisine - Edit
Delighted to find that their Stir-Fried Laksa is still as fantastic and flavorful as ever – we just can't get enough of it!😋 Before we could even dive into the Chicken Rice, our boys had polished off everything. They declared it too yummy to resist!😅
Read moreTo cater to the kids' love for truffles, we also ordered the Truffle Fried Rice. Love how the truffle flavour is beautifully infused into the rice, truly satisfying. Can't go wrong with their buttered mushrooms, it is very crispy! We couldn't resist adding some of our favourite dim sums to the order. Veggie Scallop Yam Fritters is my personal favourite, yummy! And Flower Fruit Tea is our must-have to end the meal. 😃✨️
Here are what we ordered🌱
🍜 Stir-Fried Laksa
🍚 Chicken Rice
🍛 Truffle Fried Rice
🍄 Buttered Abalone Mushroom
🍠 Veggie Scallop Yam Fritters
🫘 Steamed Beancurd Rolls
🥬 Veggie Siew Mai Dumplings
🍄 Mushroom Crystal Dumplings

Take away experience - Edit
I ordered twice via Grab and loved the dim sum and other smaller portion dishes. The Mope (?) Tofu, however, was disgusting. I don’t know if it’s supposed to taste this way or was very off. Either way, I forced myself half way through since I was hungry but couldn’t finish. But as I said, the rest was great!

Unique Dimsum, Delicious Mains - Edit
Unique fusion allium-free vegetarian dimsum! Would recommend the Truffle Mixed Mushroom Dumplings, Signature Taro Mee Sua Cake, and Lotus Paste Longevity Buns. They also serve mains and seasonal specials, including the current Christmas vegan mains which are surprisingly delicious! Do verify with the staff when ordering if you do not consume egg and/or dairy. Conveniently located near Novena MRT Station Exit B.

Innovative dishes & high tea - Edit
Came here specially for the 🌊🐟 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒆𝒂 (海中之宝) & we had the 𝗦𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵 (𝗦𝗚𝗗 𝟮𝟯.𝟴𝟬). The wait is around 15 mins and the fish wasn’t that warm at the start, as the flame was non-existent. But after a few tries, the flame came up and we waited for the fish to be re-heated again. BUT food is good, flavourful and they are generous with the ingredients as well. We had the less spicy and numb version, as my spice tolerance is close to zilch. This level was acceptable for me actually! The fish is made of beancurd sheets, not the mock meat kind, so definitely suitable for people who don’t take a liking for mock meat! MUST-TRY!!
Read moreWe ordered the chee cheong fun too,
𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗽 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 & 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗲 (𝗦𝗚𝗗 𝟰.𝟴𝟬)
Everything came into place perfectly, both the sauce and the chee cheong fun. I loved the sauce as well as the you tiao nestled within!
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘆𝘂 (𝗦𝗚𝗗 𝟱.𝟴𝟬)
Equally in love with this too! The sauce was savoury and it blew me away! Will recommend ordering this!
𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗯 (𝗦𝗚𝗗 𝟵.𝟵𝟬)
Served in portion of 3, so just nice for us! I loved the chilli crab sauce and the bun! Totally wouldn’t mind more sauce to it though! Hehs!
𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝘆𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘂𝗺 (𝗦𝗚𝗗 𝟴.𝟴𝟬)
We ordered a pot of tea and I thought I would probably need that to brace myself from the spice 😅 The tea was refreshing, fragrant and balance out the spice. The tea was also refillable, so its great for sharing!
I would recommend trying all the food we ordered! & I’m really glad that vegans now have a go at these latest food trends too!
Lotus Vegetarian also offers 𝑭𝒖𝒍𝒍 𝑽𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝑹𝒐𝒚𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒐𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒆𝒂 served in a gold tier stand, comes with a medley of sweet and savoury bites, served with your choice of 🍵𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮 or ☕️𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗞𝗶𝗺’𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗲𝘁. Good food, awful service - Edit
I went in for some dim sum and tried the streamed bean curd skin rolls, carrot cake, and truffle mushroom dumplings, and some tea. The tea and carrot cake were very lukewarm. Everything tasted delicious but my experience was marred by the awful service. I was completely ignored, gave up trying to ask someone for a menu and I just went and took one from another table.

I would think this place looks elegant with its Zen deco environment. The staff always set 2 timings for lunch and dinner. Each slot about 2 hours. So it’s best to make reservations to avoid rushing yourself to eat or no table for u.

Great for gatherings - Edit
I had a dinner gathering here with a group of veg and non-veg people.
Read moreFor starters, we had an assortment of appetisers. I can’t remember the actual name of it but we enjoyed the nutty sesame dressing that was drizzled over the sliced cucumber.
Few of the mains we ordered were the Steam Veg Cod with Tree Seeds & Grated Ginger, Claypot Mushroom with Basil Leaves, Mapo Tofu, Veggie Shark’s Fin Soup and the Homemade Satay.
Highly recommend getting the Homemade Satay; a local favourite made plant-based using soy-based meat. The soy-based meat had a slightly crunchy exterior and soft, chewy insides, like authentic satay with a crunchy charred surface. We liked the peanut sauce (pretty much the dish's highlight) and ordered a second serving of this dish to enjoy.
The ‘cod’ dish is Lotus’ interpretation of Teochew style fish. I ordered this out of curiosity, and also because I always enjoy the gingery flavour of the clear soup/gravy that came with this dish (Shu Vegetarian’s was delicious!). And for this dish, I say, give it a go!
I can’t remember what’s the taste of the clay pot mushroom was like, but I vaguely remember my fellow diners commented that they love the peppery spiciness of the dish and the variety of mushrooms used.
For the Mapo Tofu dish, it had a mild spicy heat to it, perfect for those who don’t eat spicy foods but still want to try something with spice.
As for the Veggie Shark’s Fin Soup, it’s a 100% cruelty-free alternative to real shark’s fin soup. My fellow non-Chinese diners found this dish interesting as they haven’t tried any thick soups before, and after they tried this dish, they all became a fan of it. And yes, I did tell them to add black vinegar and white pepper to the soup to enhance the flavour (Note: with and without vinegar makes a whole lot of difference to thick soups.)
Pros: Lots of vegan options

Stir-fried laksa, Ee Fu noodles, Crispy Hor Fun etc - Edit
Tried their stir-fried laksa, Ee Fu noodles, crispy Hor Fun, Siew Mai dumplings, steamed bean curd roll, BBQ king oyster buns, BBQ meat buns, pan fried pumpkin taro cake, no doubt all are very delicious, the Ee Fu noodles is surprisingly fragrant, the stir-fried laksa is thick and flavourful, the crispy Hor Fun is delicious with lots of fresh veggies and mushroom inside.
Read moreThe BBQ king oyster bun is great, the BBQ meat buns taste like the real char siew bun, honestly their siew mai is better than Ling Zhi's siew mai, the steamed bean curd roll tastes like the home made ngoh hiang, the pan fried pumpkin taro cake is one of my favorite, super yummy, overall I'm very satisfied with their food, portion is generous too.
