So good! - Edit
One of my favorite places because they are Buddhist and fusion menu is a lot of fun. I usually get the dish with tomato sauce and avocado, baked polenta or something like that but it’s all good!

Disappointing, both food and service - Edit
After all the great reviews here, I was a bit disappointed.
Read moreI had the benny, the potatoes did not taste fresh and weren't crisp at all. The hollandaise was a bit gritty and more like a thick, mild curry sauce. The tofu was very plain. The mushrooms were good though and a nice touch.
Also, the service was really weird. It was my first time there and it wasn't clear to me whether I was supposed to order at the counter or whether they had table service; I tried asking but the person didn't seem to speak much English (or maybe I was unclear?). I started ordering at the counter but then the person taking the order walked away for a bit while I stood there, finally came back, asked again for my order, then finally put it in. It was just really weird and I felt like I'm inconveniencing them.

Sorry to say I don't agree with all the 5 star reviews here. I got the tofu scramble and the flavor and preparation was similar to what I can achieve at home. Nothing special about it and I'm pretty sure the hashbrowns were frozen roasted potatoes. I wouldn't go here again unless I was really hungry and couldn't wait to get anywhere else. Nice that it's all vegan, of course.

A friend and I went here for lunch, I had the quinoa salad and my friend had the Pho. The waitress was very nice and I loved the calming atmosphere and music. Quinoa salad was very good and my friend enjoyed her pho. Unfortunately they were out of cheesecake but they did have some good looking cookies.

This place felt kinda secret. Really delicious food and a bright and friendly staff. The artwork on the walls is gorgeous and the food was clean and free from the things it should be free from. Highly recommended. #Veganuary

One of the best vegan restaurants here, or anywhere for that matter.
Read moreOne of the unique things about it is that they are able to make very tasty food while at the same time being very healthy for you (nothing fried or greasy, or loaded with salt). Some vegan restaurants can't get always this combination quite right.

It Just Keeps Getting Better! - Edit
*EDIT / UPDATE #2: just visited for brunch today (March 2021) and specifically wanted to try out their new EZ Omelette and Sunny Pate Toona - yes, believe the hype! The omelette was incredible; very soft and spongey and went so well with the sautéed veggies it was made with. It’s even available in store as a pre-mix that you can make at home. Apparently great for making quiches!
Read moreWe also tried the Sunny Pate Toona, and that was a hit as well! Definitely, definitely recommend booking your next brunch date here!

I was thrilled to hear that Lotus Seed was opening a second location on Broadway! Firstly, it's a lot more accessible to us downtown folks (although I would gladly do the drive out to Kingsway for one of their Meatless Meatball Wich Sandwiches), and secondly, their menu offers a wide range of veggie goodness, no matter what kind of foodie you are!
On our first visit to the new location, we had the baked spring rolls for starters, the South America Burrito and the Almond Alfredo Spaghetti. The spaghetti was a dream... this will definitely be a top pick whenever I go back! The spring rolls were also incredible, and being baked, they tasted so different to the typical spring rolls out there. It also comes with a fabulous dipping sauce which is a must-try! The burrito was really hearty and is a great pick for people with voracious appetites! The owners are such wonderful people and the staff exudes the friendliness and family-like feel of this restaurant.
Update #1: I have heard that there was an addition of scramble tofu to the brunch menu, which I am so excited to try out!! This may just become the hottest new brunch spot in the area! More to come...!
Pros: Lovely, friendly atmosphere, The Alfredo Sauce Spaghetti!!, The menu's variety - there's something for all!
