Excellent Vegan Options

It’s a chain in Suzhou that carries quite a few vegan dishes. And they serve beer and wine! Been here multiple times and always enjoy.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Good price , Alcohol

Decent place in SIP

A nice and welcoming Buddhist place. 20 min walk from the Dongfangzhimen metro station. Perhaps the best vegetarian option in SIP. Good for vegans, just make sure to double check about eggs and dairy.

Pros: Decent choice of dishes, Friendly and helpful staff, Not crowded

Cons: Too much fake meat, No legumes/nuts

Vegan restaurant in Suzhou

Happy to find a vegan restaurant in Suzhou. Friendly staff. Big menu plenty of options and gluten-free dishes.
You can find now Lotus in Sherpa, which is very convenient.

Pros: Tasty, Friendly staff

They are on Sherpa now!

I went here multiple times before they were available on Sherpa. Now I order whenever I'm in the area. Meat eaters seemed happy with the place - they have creative mock meat dishes. Not 100% vegan (mayo?), but vegan should be able to navigate. Good soups. Relaxing place. Prices ok.

Friendly Vegetarian Restaurant

Been there in Feb. 2014.

They have two menus, one menu with "sets"; and one a-la-carte. All dishes have English translation.
Some things in the set menu are labeled as "vegan"; but dishes in the a-la-carte menu did not have any explanation regarding use of dairy, eggs, honey, etc.
Staff speaks no English, so it was difficult to know which items in the menu were vegan; or whether the "vegan" items in the set menu were actually vegan.

Nonetheless, the staff was very nice, and not only the food was tasty but also quantities were rather large.

Set menus were around 45 yuan (main, soup and drink).
If eating a-la-carte, expect to pay around 60 yuan for a meal and drink.

Finally, it's a short walk from the bus stop called "Jia Cheng Building".

Pros: large quantities, friendly staff, reasonable prices

Cons: no english spoken, a little bit of food smell

So good we went back again for dinner

We were worried about our chances of getting a good feed in Suzhou but were very pleased to find there is an organic restaurant in town. We found it easily enough and wandered in to find a very simple, almost cafeteria style interior, nothing fancy but clean, functional and friendly. It is run by a Taiwanese family, one of whom (a young guy) speaks pretty good English. The menu is not huge, but is full of just enough things to keep you interested. Between the two of us we weren't able to try everything that appealed to us so we decided to come back again for dinner. We enjoyed everything we tried and had no trouble avoiding the death by mock meat scenario. They don't use MSG and the food is not too oily, so that was another huge relief. When we ordered a plate of organic green veges they took us to the fridge and asked us which we would like - there were about 4-5 types of leaves to choose from, all of which were fresh and tasty.

Pros: healthy food, interesting dishes, friendly service - in english!!

Cons: ambience is quite simple
