My go-to place when showing what the city offers - Edit
The Lost Dog Cafe is the first place I suggest when showing people what the city of Binghamton has to offer in terms of restaurants. What's great about it is that even the non-veg*n options are wholesome and delicious! They are known for their rigatoni à la vodka, of which they recently created a vegan version (which is amazing).
Read moreVery cool/hip atmosphere, straight out of NYC. They also have live music, DJs, team trivia, and other events every week.
Pros: Atmosphere, Wholesome food, Vegan dessert
Cons: Often busy, Do not take reservations, A little pricey, especially drinks

Fantastic - Edit
Came here about 1.5 years ago, and now every time I eat channa masala I can only compare it to the version I had here. The greatest I could ever imagine. Options for everyone, my girlfriend an I ate vegan while my parents ate whatever they eat. Everyone left more than happy!

Restaurant is very classy and has live music sometimes. My bestfriend & I went for a girls night out the weekend following Valentine's day. The service was good and the food was excellent. They have a good selection of vegan options & many can be made vegan.

We are frequent patrons at Lost Dog, I am a vegetarian and Dave is a pescatarian, and we have never had a bad meal here!! They have so many vegetarian and vegan options that I sometimes have a hard time choosing what to eat!
Read moreThey always have a vegetarian or vegan soup, which is always creative and delicious!
Last weekend I had a cheese stuffed ravioli with this sauce that had tomatoes, eggplant, artichoke hearts, olives, and it was perfectly seasoned! Every single bite was amazing!!!!!
If you are in Binghamton, this is a MUST! You won't be disappointed
Pros: Lots of vegetarian and vegan options , Prices are fair, Great portions (I have never left hungry)

Perfect! - Edit
I could not be more pleased with a meal from start to finish! The buffalo Brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious and the vegan garlic aoili to go with them was delectable! The beer selection was awesome (the lost dog pale ale was my favorite), and the vegan penne ala vodka was so good! To top it off, lost dog cafe had a vegan peanut butter pie! Do you know how difficult it is to come by a vegan dessert? And one that was this good!? It was light and fluffy and just so good! Thanks Lost Dog for having several vegan options and beings so accommodating. Our waitress, Marissa, was so helpful and understanding about vegan accommodations and made several recommendations. Definitely stop here if visiting Binghamton. Not only excellent food, pleasing to vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike, but it was also a very chill and relaxing environment. I wish we lived closer! If only it was a completely vegan restaurant then it would get 5 stars (a happy cow stipulation, which I understand). But other than that everything was just, perfect.

nothing to write home about - Edit
Some options are a hit and some are a miss. I added tofu to a dish, barely seasoned and cost a good amount more to add as protein option. The quinoa burger was on point. Depends on who’s cooking. Some cooks take the time and other just slop it together.

A favorite in Bingo-land - Edit
A very cool place to go. Lots of young college-age folks with a small sprinkling of old-timers (like us).
Read moreThe menu has some clearly labeled vegan food. We went to college in this town a hundred years ago so it is nice to go to a place that clearly caters to vegans.
The Southwest Quinoa burger wrap was pretty tasty and had black bean and roasted corn, peppers, onion and salsa with creamy garlic herb sauce. It was served with a side salad. Inventive, different and tastilicious.
But the real star of the evening was the Veggie Tikka Massala. It was served piping hot and had broccoli, zucchini, carrots, peppers and spinach in a creamy masala sauce over coconut rice. There were so many different tastes in every bite. I would love to get this again next time we roll through Binghamton. And the portion was so big I could hardly finish it. If I had the chance I would have saved half for the next day.
You better have reservations if you want to go here on a Saturday night. We got there kind of early, but I heard on the way out that the wait was between one and one and a half hours! Kearny one of the most popular places in Bingo-land!
Pros: Very cool and different vibe..nice, Great food, Good crowd
Cons: You may need reservations!

Our third choice in Binghamton - Edit
The buffalo brussels sprouts were great! They even made us a vegan creamy sauce for dipping. The Vietnamese salad was weak, the dressing just wasn't right, but I don't think this had anything to do with it being vegan. And they made a decent vegan options for our kids, subbing grilled tofu for the chicken fingers, with fries (which are fried in the same oil as meat).

Pros: Vegan options marked on menu, Comfortable casual atmosphere
Cons: Food was fair, not but great

vegan options not the best - Edit
I had to borrow the title of another review, because I think it captures perfectly the potential this cafe has but doesn't quite fulfil. I found the "Cajun rice and beans" quite oily and lacking in spice. On the plus side, the atmosphere is energetic and fun, service efficient and friendly, the drinks menu extensive. I'd probably come here for drinks and maybe a snack with friends on a special occasion rather than a meal.

One of my favorites - Edit
This is one of my favorite places to eat. The vegan food is clearly labeled. There hasnt been a meal I didnt enjoy. Can be a little bit of a wait during the busier times, but is worth it. They participate in restaurant week and were not offering a vegan dessert on the special menu, but allowed me to sub in the vegan dessert so I could still ger the special deal. Very accomodating.

Plenty of options - Edit
So far I have tried the Cajun greens and beans and Veggie skewers over quinoa and spinach.
Read moreI would definitely recommend both. I expected the Cajun greens and beans to have more Cajun spice, it was a little mild/bland in my opinion but tasted great nonetheless. The dressing with veggie skewers was unexpectedly flavorful and complex. The veggie skewers were marinated and cooked perfectly.
The drink menu is very inventive but a little pricy for Binghamton. Do not leave without trying the peanut butter pie!
Pros: Vegan and GF options labeled , Peanut Butter Pie! , Great Atmosphere
Cons: Parking can be a struggle , Service can be slow
