Unique combination of mexican japanese food - Edit
This place was a great delight. I feel like this place is not just for vegans but also non-vegans as the flavors are so unique. I landed up overeating just because I wanted to taste more things. Had the Chili Oil Tofu, Tetela con mole negro and grilled cheese. I loved the chili oil tofu.

Special treat - Edit
Eating here was a beautiful experience. Our server Melissa was great and had excellent recomedations! I love the pickles/kimchi that come on the side of a lot of the dishes. We had some beers including a pumpkin spice one! Tried some mezcal and basically floated home after that. The quesidilla was light and tasty and my taco which had oyster mushrooms in it was delicous

Superb experience - Edit
One of those places that’s more than the food. Clearly a lot of thought and love by the owner. Everything was fantastic. They even brew their own drinks, some of them mushroom based, all great. Would definitely go back. I had dumplings and three taco dishes, hard to pick a winner

Inventive vegan restaurant - Edit
CDMX has a lot of vegan restaurants but from the ones we tried, we felt Los Loosers was one of the best.
Read moreThey have a nicely decorated parklet and a few tables inside.
Enjoyed pretty much everything we got here.
Elote was a pleasant surprise. The local indigenous corn tasted so good even by itself.
Tried a variety of interesting and carefully crafted tacos. The dumpling special was really good as well.
Pros: Dumpling, Elote, Tacos

Amazing -gourmet experience - Edit
Los Loosers was wonderful - it impressed the hard-to-please non-vegans in our group. Food so flavorful and interesting plant-based presentation. Loved the gyoza and tacos with mole sauce. Flan for dessert was great. Waiters were very earnest and pleasant.

Really great food. Very tasty. Friendly service with our limited Spanish. Pricier than other options in the area but really worth it. Planning on returning.

Delicious and vibey - Edit
Los Loosers was one of the first plant-based restaurants opened in CDMX and is entirely mushroom-forward. The whole menu features dishes with mushrooms, and they even put them in their homemade drinks. The service was exceptional and the outdoor patio was lovely.
Read moreWe tried the oyster mushroom “fish” taco, which was sooo crispy and delicious. We also tried the queso empanaditas which we loved loved loved! The cashew cheese inside was so melty and creamy. The last thing we had was the katsu burger. The flavors were good, but as a person who needs mushrooms to be hidden to like them, the texture wasn’t my favorite.
Overall 10/10 experience and will definitely be back to try more.
Update: went back for their new breakfast menu and tried the enfrijolados and the Gómez toasts. The enfrijolados were sooooo delicious - basically like black bean and crema quesadillas smothered in sauce, avocado, and more cheese. The toasts were made of a thick integral bread with seeds and had a vegan cheese, avocado, and a drizzle of a spicy oil on top. These were also good but so dense. They needed more salsa or tomatoes or something to lighten and freshen it a bit. Service was friendly and attentive as always.

Unique, creative flavors - Edit
This is a charming vegan restaurant that beautifully showcases the versatility and deliciousness of mushrooms. From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of fantastic.
Read moreThe food at Los Loosers is a true culinary delight. Each dish was bursting with flavor. The textures were spot-on, providing a satisfying and enjoyable eating experience. We were particularly impressed by the rich colors on our plate, indicating the freshness and quality of the ingredients.
The plating was artful and thoughtful, enhancing the dining experience. Not only were the portions generous, but the incorporation of local flavors added an extra layer of authenticity and uniqueness to the dishes.
To complement the meal, we tried their mushroom-infused cider and beer, which were a revelation. The addition of mushrooms brought a whole new dimension to the drinks, enhancing their complexity and adding to the overall gastronomic adventure.
Apart from the outstanding food and beverages, I must commend the impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our visit.

Good can improve though - Edit
..visited that expats and tourists oriented spot a couple of months ago during my stay in cdmx; had a mushroom burger served on white bread; not a flavour I'll never forget. In addition, I asked for a glass of white Mexican wine which was listed in the menu, the waiter though showed up holding a different bottle and, noticing it, I asked whether it was about the one I ordered receiving a non affirmative response; wine was super cold so I couldn't really appreciate it. Furthermore, I did pay in cash but I was never brought the change. After waiting for like fifteen minutes I entered the space asking the waiter again about it. He responded that they had no change and when I asked for the 500 pesos note back so I would pay by card he simply said that the manager had taken the note going out to try to break the note so he could make some change; as it was kind of hard to me digesting such answer I simply left the restaurant not feeling happy. Of course, as most of the reviews are positive, perhaps I wasn't so blessed that day for to enjoy the edible experience these folks were offering.

Great Food - Edit
Lovely place and decor with tables inside and out. Closes at 7 which is a bit of a shame. We shared the gyoza, taco Al pastor and the mole and all were fantastic. Mole was especially heavy and perhaps could have done with a squeeze of lime to lighten it up. It's on the more expensive side of things so go there knowing the price but we had a lovely experience.

For those who don’t speak Spanish, there is an instagram page where restaurant workers can denounce their employers for unfair treatment and other bad practices. There is a lot of information about this restaurant there and after reading it I will definitely not be visiting this establishment.

Delish Vegan Food - Edit
Upscale vegan on a quiet tree lined neighborhood street. The food was outstanding and plated beautifully. I dined in the cozy covered patio area. I enjoyed the Gyoza Japanese dumplings and the Taco Tokiolula. Both were delicious, full of flavor, and very appealing to the eye. The handmade tortilla for the taco was the best I ever had. I live in LA, so I’ve tried many. Looks like they had a much larger menu at one point, but the smaller menu has a lot to offer. Put this place in your travel plans. Must stop for the vegan who wants full flavor. I will be back.
