I got one Vegano arepa and now I'm wishing I had gotten 2 or 3 - so good! For an outdoor fast food stand, it took at least 20 minutes to come out, even though I was the only one there in the morning, but it was definitely worth the wait - I could tell it was fresh straight out of the fryer.

3 Vegan Options - Edit
They have a few vegan options, more like 3-4. The item I got was the patacon vegano, make sure to tell them vegan, no dairy or meat. It was pretty expensive for what you get but pretty tasty. I would come back.

I'm vegetarian but can't stand mayonnaise. It didn't taste like it but you'd have to ask. They named it pastacon vegano, and it didn't matter enough for me personally to ask whether it had vegan mayo since I was traveling alone and don't speak Spanish. I'm sure you could order it different or pick something else.

I suggest you visit DONTWATCH.ORG & watch that 7 minute video, to learn all the abuse that Vegetarians like yourself still pay for & are responsible for. Just because you dont mind whether it was vegan mayo or non-vegan (containing eggs from abused hens) mayo, it doesnt matter, cause it does personally matter to the victim you create.

Nothing is vegan - Edit
The oil they use to cook everything is a margarine that has whey in it, thereby making all their menu items (including the “veganos” options non vegan. Before knowing this I had ordered one of their “vegan” items which was supposed to just come with avocado, plantains, and black beans, but they put cheese on it. The employee didn’t understand cheese isn’t vegan or something.

They have tasty arepas you can add avocado onions and sweet plantains. My favorite thing there is the vegan empanada filled with sweet plantains and black beans. They also have a huge amount of hot sauces you can choose from that are natural.
Read moreThe staff is always accommodating and kind plus the vegan options are clearly labeled so they know what your referring to regardless of if you speak fluent Spanish or not.
They can also make virgin drinks in a pineapple for tropical vibes without the alcohol.

Fantastic vegan food! We had the vegan arepas and then asked if the patacones could be made vegan. The chef made them for us and they were incredible! Huge portion too! Sooo good!
