I didn't like the stew that much, but it was okey, just not my taste.

Are you sure the vegan stew was vegan? I saw it on the menu as vegetarian, but I'm going to eat there this saturday and if the stew is vegan I really like to order it :-)!

Had lunch and dinner here. The vegan kroketten & the zuurvlees were both amazing, my boyfriend had the vegan fish and chips which was also great! The location is great and the staff is also friendly.

The vegan zoervleisj, which is weirdly enough labeled 'vega' and the vegan kroketten made a good, tasty and filling meal. However, there were a few points very unsatisfying.
Read moreFirstly, we weren't allowed to get some tap-water (or drink water from our own bottles) even though it was very warm that day.
Secondly, the staff didn't give us the attention I expected. I felt a little unappreciated, partly because of the water-thing, but also in general. The waiters did everything so fast it felt like we were expected to leave again soon. Also, when i mentioned this, one of the staff members responded quite arrogantly and rude, which made me leave with disappointment.
The three stars is for the food. The service definitely needs some improvement.

We went to café Local for lunch and had the pulled plants and vegan kroketten. Both of them we’re very tasty. If I had the opportunity, I would’ve tried the vegan zoervleisch. But apparently, you can only get it for dinner.

Some very nice vegan friendly bites like the nachos with vegan cheese and the bitterballen. They changed the dips with the bread to vegans dips when asked.

Local is een restaurant wat misschien niet veel vegan gerechten heeft, maar de gerechten die er zijn, zijn goed. Misschien zijn de gerechten simpel, maar ze zijn hiermee ook straight to the point. Ik had zelf de vegan fish en chips en het heel lekker. Simpel eten waar je oprecht van kan genieten. De patat was knapperig en de vegan fish was echt goed. De buitenkant was goed gekruid en knapperig, ook de zelf gemaakte tartaar saus was lekker. Na een lange dag in de stad is het lekker om neer te ploffen op het terras en te genieten van lekker en simpel eten.

Gisteravond bij Local gegeten. Het terras was plotseling volgelopen en ons gereserveerde plekje was niet beschikbaar. Dit werd echter heel snel en vriendelijk opgelost door de bediening. We hadden de vegan fish and chips (veeeeel!) en het zoervleis, wat vegan is. Er werd vegan mayonaise bij de frieten geserveerd. Het zoervleis was ontzettend goed van smaak. Echt comfortfood. Dit, met de vriendelijke bediening zorgt dus imo voor de 5 sterren beoordeling.

We ordered the vegan nachos (€7) and they were very good! The cheese was amazing! It was topped with salsa, red onion, avocado and spring onion.
Read moreWe really wanted to try the vegan coquettes (€10) but they only serve it until 17.00u. Fortunately the staff was so nice to ask the chef if we could have it anyways 😁 (they we're delicious!)
Lastly, we had vegan zoervleis (€15) which is a typical Limburgs sweet and sour ("meat") stew with fries and salad. Yummy!

The food here was really good, but there was only one vegan item on the menu. I really liked that they immediately offered vegan mayo. The service was good. We had a really nice waitress. So overall I would recommend, but I would love to see more vegan items on the menu!

Vegan-proof & mooi uitzicht vanaf terras - Edit
Fijne plek om te lunchen of te borrelen. Vriendelijk personeel en een mooi uitzicht vanaf het terras. Er worden diverse vegan opties aangeboden op de menukaart. Met name de vegan borrelhapjes zijn een pre! Erg fijn om als vegan ook borrelhapjes te kunnen nemen (nachos, bitterballen etc. )
