The absolutely best raw almond butter, period. - Edit
Q: Why do almost all brands of raw almond butter and raw tahini taste nothing like raw almonds or raw sesame seeds?
Read moreA: Because those nut butters and tahinis are not really raw. Though the nuts and seeds began raw, the high-heat process of grinding roasts those nuts and seeds.
My question above was slyly qualified with the word "almost" in the phrase "almost all brands." Because Living Tree's almond butter and tahini do indeed taste like raw almonds and raw sesame seeds. They claim to "slice" (whatever that means), not grind, their nut butters and tahinis. Whatever it is that "slice" means, it makes a difference, because theirs is the best raw almond butter and best raw tahini on the market. I first tried theirs 25 years ago, and I have never been able to settle for any other brand since then. I used to mail order their products by the case directly from Living Tree, until 5 years ago, when I found a local source here in Connecticut.
Good news for residents of shoreline Connecticut. Both Foodworks stores in Old Saybrook and Guilford carry Living Tree's raw nut butters and raw tahini, and my hope of informing CT residents of this is why I have posted this review.
Pros: their raw almond butter, their raw tahini, and all their other raw nut butters

High Quality Food Stuff - Edit
I regularly order from Living Tree Community Foods online, and have the foodstuff delivered to my home. Shipping is typically around $9-11 depending on the size of the order.
Read moreMy family especially enjoys the almond butter and cashew butter. Sometimes we get the dried persimmon, the sesame tahini, the dried cranberries, the black sesame oil, hemp oil, and occasionally the raw chocolate creations.
Most of the products are raw and organic, and really high in quality, which explains why the prices are higher than average. But they are worth it!
