Belter from Buddha! - Edit

Very impressed with the tofu satay and rice noodles, with beansprouts that I got on a recent lunch visit.

The tofu and noodles were perfectly cooked and the satay sauce was very flavoursome.

Lots of vegan options on the menu too and very friendly, helpful staff.

Nice addition to the town - Edit

I was pleased to see Fat Buddha appear in the Clems premises. I’ve been a couple of times now and have been quite impressed. They’ll go the extra mile for you and ensure everything is right. I’ve had vegan chikn dishes but would like to try a tofu dish next time

A Blues for Buddha - Edit

Formerly Clems chippy now taken over by the people who run Little Fat Buddha in Darlington. The vegan selection is quite astonishing. Literally dozens of fake chikn, duck and prawn dishes as well as multiple tofu options. The chikn and sweetcorn soup was really good, the main chikn and black bean and Szechuan dishes were ok but used that funny looking “goose pimpled” tinned chikn. I’m guessing they use the tinned duck too. The egg free fried rice was great but I wasn’t too hung up on the curry sauce or chips. I’ll certainly give it another go and get one of the tofu dishes. Staff are really lovely and go out of their way to help you and make sure everything is vegan.
