I love this food. Better every time!!!!
Read moreY'all need to stop hating this amazing chef bc it's hard to succeed as an all vegan business. He's incredibly talented. The restaurant is not what it was. It's still a GREAT PLACE TO GO GET VEGAN FOOD. This meal was the highlight of my day and I am going back tomorrow

No longer vegan! - Edit
In a very disappointing move, Lick It Up IS NO LONGER A VEGAN EATERY. Vegan options are now considered a substitute and are an additional $5!!
Read moreEditor: please reduce this review to 1 star since they are no longer fully vegan.
Pros: I used to like everything. , Won’t be supporting them any longer.
Cons: Extra charge for vegan options.

Update - No longer vegan - Edit
I am glad lick it up exists but honestly do not find myself going as much after they moved from their Monarch location. Several items got more expensive and it's inside yet another bar (bars aren't a welcoming or comfortable environment for me, monarchs patio was a little easier to deal with).
Read moreThe food can be amazing depending on who makes it and what mood they're in, but even last year quality was getting inconsistent, sometimes the nachos would be drowning in grease etc. For the price consistency would be nice.
Also, their salsas used to actually have a kick to them and that's no longer the case. For instance, the red 'salsa' tastes like some kind of tomato cream sauce. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed that they're very bland.
Edit -
As of August 2024, this place is no longer vegan and serves vegan options with an up charge.

Pros: Lots of menu items to choose from, Nice looking dinnerware , Food can be very good
Cons: Very pricey, some menu items got more expensive , It's in a bar, Salsa isn't spicy whatsoever

I think he might have changed the menu. This is the second review I am reading that says upcharge for vegan food

From Vegan to Carnist Overnight - Edit
This place used to be amazing. As of August, 2024, the owner changed the menu to being a pro-carnivore restaurant. It's not just omnivore. They now charge extra for vegan options, so they're exploiting animals and vegans at the same time.
Read moreIt's extra disappointing coming from a restaurant that was known for being one of the only vegan spots for hundreds of miles around to now taking advantage of vegan customers.

Good food, awful location - Edit
Nachos were amazing, burrito was good but a little salty. Now to the awful location - The bar played music as if it was a nightclub at 6pm, it sucked sitting there trying to enjoy the food. We saw people turning as soon as they entered and I assume that’s why. I would highly recommend everyone who wants to try their food to only do take out.

Best Vegan Carne Fries Ever! - Edit
I have tried a few dishes here including the fries, burritos, and tacos. I really enjoy the complex flavors they put in their food. The flavors remind me of traditional food here in EP, but the only complaint I have is how much salt they put in their food. I can never finish my plates because of how salty the dishes are! Other than that, the atmosphere is nice, I’ve always had quick service , and the food is perfect for if you’re drunk (which is perfect for having a bar right next to it) or just want filling Mexican vegan food!

Delicious but salty - Edit
Appreciate the extensive vegan choices, but our group found it a bit too salty; suggesting a lighter hand with the salt would enhance the overall enjoyment. #Veganuary

Solid Vegan Eats - Edit
Was in El Paso on business and stopped in for lunch. This is a really cool vegan joint inside of a bar. I had the chorizo, potato, cheese taco (delish) and the verde burrito (also delish). Also had the hibiscus tea which was tasty as well.

Delsih option in downtown El Paso (super close to the 10) - Edit
I was in El paso for a night and came by for dinner. I had read earlier reviews and have to say I was pleasantly surprised, and happy I walked over.
Read moreYou may know by now that it's in a bar. When I arrived, about 3pm, there were three tables of guests, all eating. The bar was a bar, and clean and a good place to eat.
The server/cook was awesome. Friendly and helpful.
I ordered two carne asada tacos and one mileanesa taco. All three were packed with flavor and delish. I wish I could have had room for a fourth.
Highly recommend.
Pros: Delish tacos, Friendly service

Okay flavor, terrible environment - Edit
El Paso seriously needs to up their vegan game. Juarez has better options while browsing HappyCow.
Read moreThis place is located inside a bar which I wasn’t aware of. I would have gotten my food to go but we were on a road trip and it was hot outside. So eating inside it was.
I hate bar scenes so this kinda sucked but nothing I could do about it. Tables were all taken so we had to sit at the bar.
I went for the brunch special but when I asked the girl for the brunch menu she had no idea what I was talking about even though it was plastered on their insta. Turns out someone took it and was looking at it at a table.
I ordered the regular picadillo burrito with a side of chips and salsa and an additional side of chips and queso.
The burrito itself was fine. The flavors were very strong just not really a flavor I cared for. Almost no beans inside. The burrito was pretty dry but it came with two sauces. They were both kicking some heat. The green one was my favorite.
The queso had a good flavor but it had green chile overload inside of it. Wound up only being able to eat half the cup because the other half was all hatch chiles.
The waitress forgot the chips and salsa so I reminded her and she said she forgot to add it to the bill. She came out with the receipt showing me she didn’t add it and I didn’t pay for it and on the receipt it showed chips and salsa. I had to point it out to her that it was on the receipt lol She was like “oh oops that’s our fault” lol
When she brought it out I was super disappointed. It was just four small cups of the sauces that the burrito came with. Not salsa at all. I wound up not even eating it. You can’t even fit a chip into the tiny cups and it wasn’t true salsa- just sauces. So that was super disappointing.
I also got my food way after multiple people after me ordered so idk what that was about. I wound up waiting about 5 min for the queso, 15 minutes for the burrito and 20 for the “salsa” that I didn’t eat.
Food was also pretty pricy. Especially for the portion size. I wound up paying $20.
Overall this place was a bit disappointing. Flavor was okay, environment was horrendous and staff was not helpful or knowledgeable on their own menu.

AMAZING food - Edit
The food here is incredible, and so was the service. A hiccup with Square made my order go missing even though I paid, and after waiting a while and my friend already finishing his order I finally asked about it. The chef was SUPER nice and gave me extra food even though I didn’t ask for any and was totally fine waiting longer for it. The food was INCREDIBLE, so dang good. Love the sauces. Highly recommend the tacos!
