Closed for renovations - Edit
This location is currently closed, I think for renovations but there’s a “normal” Gros Luxe open on Duluth that has an entire separate vegan and vegetarian menu you can ask for. Great vegan options and they use gusta cheese! It’s the perfect place to bring your omnivore friends eat junk food and have a few drinks.

Loved the poutine - Edit
I came here on a very rainy night in Montreal. It was nice inside and the staff were helpful. Lots of vegan options or items that could be vegan. I opted for the poutine which was delicious and my partner had the nachos which were huge. If we were staying longer, I would have visited again.

ambiance pub veggie - Edit

convenient and tasty - Edit
The vegan butter chicken is to die for! Poutines are a must, but the 3$-extra for the potato-tasting-vegan-cheese is disappointing. It really is the perfect place for vegan comfort food though. Love it everytime. They got nice cocktails and smoothies for brunch!

Great confort food - Edit
I went a few time, the food is good and the staff always friendly. I had poutine and it was so so, but the veggie pulled 'chicken' burger and the butter 'chicken' are great! For a starter, the Banh Mi and the Wild mushroom bruchetta were great too :)

Best vegan poutine! - Edit
I tried my first vegan poutine at this place and was expecting something good, but not as good as the regular poutines. I was positively very surprised as it turned out to be absolutely amazing! I would recommend it as any other non-vegan poutines. It's really good.

Yum!! - Edit
I was happy to learn of this location when I went back to Montreal after having moved away. They have lots of vegan options, including what we all want: poutine. The vegan cheese was really good. The portions are more snack size, or maybe I was really hungry, but I could have eaten two servings of the poutine hehe.

Yum! - Edit
Great atmosphere, and the restaurant was packed when my husband and I went! He ordered the vegan poutine and absolutely loved it. I had the Jackfruit tacos, which were also really good, but I found the serving size the be a bit small. We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert which is a must try! Will definitely be going back the next time we're in MTL!

Yummy must try!! - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised by their vegetarian menu and then even more wonderfully surprised by their vegan options and the ease it takes to transform dishes on their menu into vegan dishes. I attended the restaurant with my friend who is neither vegan nor vegetarian and myself being vegan, we came to a compromise and decided to try L'Gros Luxe. The food is really good and I didn't have to compromise after all! Sorry my friend heehee...all joking aside she actually enjoyed her mushroom burger dish!

Not vegan friendly - Edit
We were super excited to hear that le Gros Luxe was opening a 100% veg restaurant! When we went a couple weeks ago, we noticed the menu didn't mark what was vegan. We asked our waitress and she said most of the menu items used eggs and cheese. She pointed to 2-3 options she thought were vegan, but wasn't sure. We ordered the three things she said were "probably vegan"-- spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer, a veggie burger, and a Mexican bowl. The appetizer came fairly quickly but the main dishes took an hour to arrive. Sure, it was really busy, but an hour to wait is a really long time! When our food finally came we found the burger was very greasy (rare for vegan food!) and the bowl was so-so.
Read moreMy non-vegetarian friends really like the veggie burger here, so maybe it's a good choice for veg and non-veg groups to go.
Another reviewer said most things can be made vegan, so maybe it's the fault of our waitress for not knowing. Nevertheless, my stomach didn't like the heavy, greasy food or the long wait, so I won't be returning. There are so many other fantastic veg restaurants in Montreal-- go to those instead!
Pros: Good for vegetarians, Good location
Cons: Bad for vegans, Greasy food, Bad service

L'Gros Luxe 100% Végé offers original vegan dishes that you can't get elsewhere in Montreal like a poutine grilled cheese, vegan waffles with friend vegan chicken, breakfast poutine, etc., as well as other classics like veggie burgers, fries, bowls, etc.

Vegan Curds! - Edit
Amazing food, by far the best we had while we were visiting Montreal. Vegan poutine was amazing, and so was the pulled "chicken" sandwich. Also the mushroom brushcetta app is a must. The chai ice cream for dessert so creamy! The menu is 80% vegan, and most item can be made vegan. This is a must if your HABS country.
