(Not so) vegan options - Edit
We visited Les Bons Amis as it was just a few steps away from where we were staying, and it had two vegan options on the menu - ‘Découverte Végétale’ and ‘Beyond Burger’. I opted for the vegetable plate, thinking I could get a good vegan burger anywhere, but I was very disappointed. For 19€, I received a small piece of cooked and lukewarm fennel, a bit of black rice, cold and flavourless pumpkin purée, and a few salad leaves with a little bit of lentils on top. The salad was the most flavourful part of the dish.
Read moreWhat was most disappointing was that we triple-checked that the dish was vegan and contained no dairy (we specifically mentioned butter or milk products) or any other animal products. The waitress assured us that it was completely vegan and had no animal products.
The last part of the meal was a tiny cup of soup that was creamy and smelled very much like a dairy-based product. We asked again, and the waitress then said it was a cream soup, as we had asked for a vegetarian meal. It’s nice that they offer a couple of options, but, as with most places in Béziers, this restaurant doesn’t really understand what vegan means. I should have gone for the burger (oh, and they charge an extra 3€ for the plant-based patty - I guess for the pleasure of not killing an animal for your dinner).

Cosy place and nice to see vegan options - Edit
I was surprised to find some vegan options in this little restaurant in Béziers. But nicely surprised by two dishes that were vegan. One is the “découverte végétale » which basically is a plate filled with seasonal products and right balance of legumes.

I went for the vegan discovery plate which was a composition of cold and lukewarm greens, red rice, pumpkin purée and a little side (mushroom) soup.
The flavors were ok but mild and could have been stronger. Also in terms of quantity, the plate was too less filled for the price you pay. But the soup, even small, was very tasty.
However, it was a nice finding and the owner is very friendly and makes you want to come back.
Maybe I will, to try out the burger, which indeed looked very nice with their homemade bun and fries.

Super cosy, great staff, delicious food - Edit
This is a very special place in the heart of the old town of Bezière. Super nice staff and the meal was delicious. Had the veggy recommendation, which was pan fried veggys, a soup and black Camargue rice with a tomatoe soup - very well seasoned. You can also order veggy Bürger with beyond meat. Wine was also top. Sitting under a huge albizia tree was exceptional.

Great vegan options - Edit
Found this place via happy cow and I’m extremely happy now (as are the French cows). Wonderful people. Very accommodating. Need to make sure to ask for vegan since their vegetale dish may have butter. They were able to accommodate a slight change, so it was fully vegan. The dish is seasonal so it will change depending on when you are there. They also have beyond burgers to use in one of their burgers… Obviously ask for no cheese or mayo if you are vegan.  Besides that, the wonderful staff will make you feel right at home.

Superb meal - Edit
Les Bons Amis is a great find. Made us feel very relaxed and comfortable, and they were completely unphased with one vegetarian and one gluten-free diner. The Découverte Végétale (vegan) was excellent, and full of interesting flavours. Fabulous, freshly cooked market-fresh vegetables, and superb local wine, cheeses and bread. An authentic french dining experience for vegans/vegetarians/coeliacs.

Trouvé par hasard en me promenant à Béziers, nous l'avons choisi pour notre repas du midi. Sur la carte deux propositions vege friendly :le burguer beyond meat et un plat végétal avec des légumes du marché, qui peut donc varier.
