An unexpectedly disappointing experience - Edit
My partner and I were excited to visit Leaf while on vacation in Boulder after hearing such great things about it, but came away very disappointed.
Read moreWhile the buffalo cauliflower tacos were crispy and flavorful, the nori tofu was terribly bland. My partner's fattoush salad initially came out with feta cheese on it, even though she had explicitly had a conversation with the waiter about making it vegan (this seems to have been the kitchen's mistake). When a new cheese-less version came out, the dressing appeared to be a simple vinaigrette rather than the tahini dressing - it was neither nutty nor creamy. Fortunately our waiter was kind enough to comp the salad after that. We finished the night with a blackberry-strawberry crumble, which was enjoyable but not exceptional.
We experienced a wealth of great vegan options while in Boulder, so unless you're a completionist, Leaf is probably not worth your time.
Pros: Pretty interior, Convenient location
Cons: Vegan options are the same price with removals

Love at first taste - Edit
Leaf has been our go-to restaurant for celebrating birthdays for years. It's a nice sit down restaurant that's reasonably priced. The menu is comprised of "real" food and not processed junk food.
Read moreWe've tried many of the items on the menu and our favorites continue to be the cauliflower tacos, fried mushrooms, seaweed salad, orange cauliflower, and carrot cake.
Each time we go, the list of things we love grows. Definitely check this place out!

Yummy sit down place! - Edit
So many vegan restaurants are casual.. I liked Leaf because it was a nice looking restaurant with outside seating and tonssss of vegan food. Came once for happy hour and loved the mushrooms sliders, cauliflower tacos (a bit spicy) mushroom “calamari” (tofu fries were a little dry).
Read moreCame back again for brunch and loved the vegan pastry and mushrooms and gravy (was heavy tho so I recommend sharing and also getting a salad lol).
The homemade drinks were amazing- blueberry lavender fizz and watermelon lemonade.

great food & ambience - Edit
Found this place for lunch when in town mid-week. Great rigatoni/beet dish they made for me, though I'd arrived at their happy hour - which offers a smaller but serviceable menu. Will definitely find this restaurant again when I'm in the area.

Great restaurant!! - Edit
So many vegan options here! We were here on a Saturday when they were serving brunch and got the crab cake sandwich (which was amazing) and the broccoli and cheddar soup with a side of home style potatoes. The homemade ketchup is so good!!! The place itself is very cool and bright. Would recommend!!

So many options, you can basically make anything there vegan! I like it a lot because I can get a lot of things that usually aren’t made vegan like pancakes

Delicious Brunch - Edit
We absolutely loved having brunch here! I am partial to real food vs the fake meat, cheeses, etc. and this was exactly that. We had the Huevos Rancheros (with tofu) and the Hippy Sandwich (full of veggies and hummus). Plus, we had their amazing pumpkin muffins. The fruit was also very fresh (and no melon haha). Highly recommend!

Good brunch if you have omni friends! - Edit
Went for brunch, it was good but nothing amazing. Will have to try again for lunch!
Read moreBiscuits and gravy was good, the french toast taste more like dense banana bread and the breakfast sandwich good but just tofu doused in turmeric. Hashbrowns are delicious though!

Nice Fancier Restaurant - Edit
I went here when I was vegetarian but I just looked and saw almost all their menu can be made vegan. It's a nice more upscale restaurant which is good for even an birthday/anniversary dinner. My favorite is the jackfruit enchiladas which are worth a try.

My husband and I decided to have breakfast here before walking around and exploring Boulder a bit. What a lovely restaurant! Very fresh vibe: lots of plants and really cool decor. Everything we ordered was amazing! From the coffee to the huevos rancheros to the pancakes 🥞 Plenty of vegan options. Service was wonderful - We were seated right away and the food came out quick! look forward to coming back again and would highly recommend to any friends in the area 🙏🏼💗

Good happy hour - Edit
We visited during happy hour and small plates were a fair bit cheaper than usual! Two of us filled up with the crab cake, mushroom calamari, and harissa tofu for about the same price as an entree. All were good, but the calamari tasted a bit like fried dough, the crab cake wasn’t super flavorful, and the tofu could have used a bit more seasoning, but I could be nit picking. Presentation was lovely and service was good. The non-vegans we went with enjoyed the food. Their flatbread was good and they liked their vegetarian spatzle a lot. Note that you can’t get alcohol on the patio. I’d go back.

A destination in itself. - Edit
Highlight of our trip to Boulder. The server was extremely helpful giving recommendation, though I think you wouldn't go wrong with any item on the menu. My brother who isn’t vegetarian said it was the best rueben he’s ever had. High praise for the seitan dish. The chef is obviously extremely conscientious and skilled with gourmet vegan cooking.

Good food - pay extra for vegan - Edit
My sandwich was very good - but at 14 dollars plus for a sandwich I would not expect to have to pay 2 dollars extra for vegan cheese. Service was not great - I asked for mustard with my sandwich but she never brought it. Our server didn’t come to check back until our food was gone.

The company is run very poorly, treat staff very badly, and don’t care and mock the patrons.

This place is actually not "all vegan" they do have eggs and cheese in some of their dishes, however, they specify on the menu which items are vegan.

Healthy, feels like fine dining with appetizers like avocado tartare and sushi salad which is so creative and delicious. The main entrees were amazing too. The curry dish ended up being our favorite entree of the 3 we ordered. Definitely a treat yourself dinner place!

Ordered the Jamaican Jerk Tempeh, Asked for extra spice/chilli. And homemade ginger beer. Mouthwatering meal, and beautifully served. Can’t wait to go back and have it again ASAP (and try more stuff). Chatted with my friendly neighbors at the bar. We were all delighted and full of praise for the food.
