Great bar/restaurant

It’s a fantastic bar/all-vegan restaurant. I got the currywurst hot dog and garlic fries, which was delicious. Lots of burgers/hot dogs/french fries options and a chill vibe.

Great shows & Killer food

I love the food here and love the vibes even more. There are shows playing all the time, and there's always something to do/see here. The specialty drinks are always changing so there's always something new to try. Also, I will say the sandwiches can be messy but it's so worth it! Try out the Animal Fries or Burger, that's my fav. They also have specials on weekends and wednesdays. loveeee them💗

Pros: Great Food, Live Music, Yummy drinks

Cons: Parking downtown sucks

Great late night greasy/carb meal to eat when drinking at the bars

Great ceaser salad and fries. Their wing specials on Wednesday are fun and tasty as well. Great taste overall but definitely very processed and not for those seeking a healthy vegan meal (unless you get the salad), wonderful vegan junk/comfort food though!

The Long Space

Quirky find where at first you feel like you’re at a small counter spot to order food to go or eat at a couple tables, but nope there’s a bar space behind and further back another hall (unable to fully venture due to a paid performance) to a stage like area.

Pros: All vegan , Interesting decor , Shows and drinks

Cons: Dive bar vibe if that’s not your thing (I like!) , Greasy diner style, not much on healthy options, Everything is expensive to me anymore

Mmmm fries!

Bacon cheese burger was very good. The grilled cheese was amazing, wish there were more options like it, without the fake stuff. The fries portion was huge and they were incredible! Such great flavors! We tried four of their special cocktails. They had very intense delicious flavors.

Cheez Sauce Highlight

It’s always awesome to have an all vegan place. The menu is burgers, hot dogs, wings and loaded fries. If you don’t like impossible burgers then this wouldn’t be the place for you. Not fantastic that was the only option. Great dive bar atmosphere and the cheez they used for their loaded fries was quite good.

Great watering hole with a classic dive bar food menu of staples like wings, burgers, dogs, fries, and salad (all vegan).

Wings!

The wings were so good! I loved them and my partner who hates most meat textures said that were alright. So that means they are good. 😆

Pros: All vegan baby!

Cons: Pricey

My old college haunt is still going strong

I spent a lot of time at this place in college and it's changed shockingly little since then--except that it's all vegan! Brought omnivores here recently and as far as they would admit, they were all happy.

If you want spick-and-span cleanly, it's not your place. If you want friendly, again, maybe not be the joint for you. (The vibe is very much like: why are you here? Why don't you already know how everything works?) Which, in fairness, I remember being pretty universal in Olympia.

But if you just want a damn good vegan sandwich, it's hard to beat. Also back in the day I remember the average wait time was about 50 minutes. Either Le Voyeur has gotten quicker, or we lucked out, because everything came out super fast.

I had the Animal: amazing. No sides unless you order 'em.

If you order fries, they use like 5 potatoes per basket. You've been warned.

Makes me greatly miss the Highline in Seattle (RIP).

Pros: yummy , fast, cool

Cons: zero friendliness, no signs about where bus tables are located, but, they're still gonna yell when you can't find em

Excellent Burgers and Fries

I've eaten here more times than I probably should have since Kevin and Jamie took over, and every time it's been absolutely delicious. I have yet to have a single thing that I wouldn't eat again. Hands down the animal fries are the way to go, but you can't go wrong with any of the burgers or dogs. They also have some of the best vegan wings I've ever had. The texture is spot on for what I look for in a wing and whether you get the Carolina BBQ or the buffalo you won't be disappointed.

I never visited before the new owners, and based on the old reviews it was hit or miss, but with Kevin and Jamie, owners of the Wayside Cafe, taking over it's well worth the visit.

Classic bar food

Food was really good, but the best part was the decor. It was so fun! Drinks are really inexpensive, and I loved the vegetable soup I got with my burger. We were really pleased with the selection! I haven’t been back since they turned fully vegan, but I’ll definitely be making a stop next time I’m in Olympia.

Pros: Good prices , Funky decor

Incredible all vegan food & quick, kind service

Get the Buffalo wings. The texture is the BEST I’ve ever had. My meat eating companion and I were so impressed we had to call to figure out what they’re made of (soy based and a sugar cane “bone.”)

The hot dogs are super affordable and tasty.

Pros: 100% vegan menu, good variety, affordable., Good alcohol to-go assortment, Quick, quality service

can't trust the vegan label

This place boasts vegan options on the menu and even a dedicated grill but I am not sure how clean they keep their kitchen. You can see how grimy the place is just by walking in the front door and you can feel it in your stomach in the 24 hours following a meal here. Your clothes and hair will reek of fryer grease for about a day as well.

It was revealed that the owner decided to take liberties with the definition of vegan and not tell anyone. Items labeled vegan on the menu were not vegan and when questioned about it, the owner responded with a personal opinion about what should and shouldn't be vegan that doesn't match the definition. It wasn't a mistake, they knowingly fed non vegan food to vegans and labeled it vegan.

This place should be removed from the happy cow app.

Cons: this place will give you the runs

Disturbing

Upon walking in I thought it was a fun different kind of restaurant. But then I noticed it had very low lighting, seemed very dark and dingy. Then I used the restroom. I wont describe details but mainly it had no toilet paper and it looked like previous bathroom goers left something behind. It was a memorable experience that unfortunately I will never forget.
Food was made by the owner that didn't wash his hands or wear gloves. Food wasn't good and the price was very expensive. Don't go here.

Pros: The wait staff was knowledgeable and very friendl

Cons: Expensive, dirty, food was nothing special at all

So happy for this place!

I'm so happy I checked this place out despite the last review. The SERVICE was AMAZING! I asked for advice on what to get and the guy went over ever item and what would be the best for my needs as GF Vegan. They give you the option for rice or chips instead of bread for the sandwiches. All their dressings AND sauces are vegan so almost (maybe everything) everything on the menu is able to make vegan. They have Daiya for cheese. It didn't take long for my order. I watched him chop up the veggies, even the lettuce. So it wasn't in a bin somewhere where they just grab from. He offered to help me with my things when I moved outside and just was overall very helpful. He wanted to make sure the dish I chose would be good on rice and came to check on me to see afterwards. It was very good. I got the Blackened Cajun with tofu and he put Daiya on it. Gave a good amount of rice that was perfectly cooked. Very happy with this place. And I love the atmosphere and choice of style.

Pros: Lots of vegan options., Great service., Homemade vegan sauces and dressings.

Cons: Nothing.

Afraid to give it another try

I haven't been here in several years. Despite this being the only place in town advertising a vegan-dedicated griddle, we got so tired of the poor service that we quit going. The last time we were there, we ordered two sandwiches and two beers. While we were waiting, a car accident happened directly in front of the restaurant, and there was a bit of a spectacle/dramatic interaction going on out there. The server and cook stopped working and went out front to watch. We waited for ages for our food, and the bill somehow came out to $38.00. This was not the first time we waited for almost an hour to be served. We have not gone back. I hope it's gotten better!

Pros: Dedicated vegan griddle

Cons: Extremely slow service

We wish we lived closer

this place is a little bit rock and roll and would be one of joint regular stops if we lived closer. Everything on the menu can be made vegan and we loved what we had - the noodle salad and the sloppy joe. Our toddler loved the fried tofu and we also had a great chat with the chef.

Check it out. You'll like it.

Downtown atmosphere with good food

This is a great place to eat. It has become our adult escape when the kids are doing their own thing, although I will say the kids enjoyed it every time. The food is always excellent, served quickly and made to order. Service is great, prices are consistent for vegan food. The restaurant has the hipster/evergreen decor which keeps day time dinners to a minimum which makes it very romantic for us. For the longest time we thought it was 100% vegan so it caught us a little off guard to see meat on the menu. Needless to say this will continue to be our date day/night staple.

Pros: excellent food, good prices, street side parking

Cons: serves meat need to specify vegan

Cool place

I took my Mom and Husband here on a Saturday evening - next time I will choose sometime during the day. It is really more of a bar and the service isn't great in the evening/night. I got the tofu caribbean jerk w/ fries. Very good! The tofu had been marinated (it tasted like) and was amazingly flavorful and moist! My husband got the stuffed avocado which was rather expensive but very good as well.

Pros: Different menu, atmosphere

Cons: bad service at night, loud (at night), a little pricy

Good and Bad

The food is pretty good and I would go back just for a salad and some of the yummy poppy seed dressing but pretty shaky on cleanliness that is for sure. I had the Reuben which was okay. My boyfriend got the avocado melt which was much better but I could also do better at home. We had good service but we were also the only people there.

Pros: Good Salad Dressing

Cons: dumpy interior

Great vegan options!

Great vegan selection, bar in the back. Service can be pretty iffy sometimes, but worth it for the food. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Olympia!

Pros: great food, many vegan options, good value

Cons: not all vegan, service varies
