Amazing atmosphere within a historic Monsstery - Edit
This renovated monastery has accommodations and a self serve buffet. There is a small but fantastic salad bar using a variety of fresh ingredients. There are three self serve menu mains, one of them Vegan which is in a Separate service area. The food was fresh, the atmosphere very tranquil.

Confusing - Edit
I couldn't get a sense of what to expect here from their website and reviews, so I'll describe my experience for anyone else feeling confused.
Read moreI showed up here on a Friday morning, hoping that I could get breakfast without staying at the hotel. The receptionist called someone to confirm they could accommodate me. They could and they did not require me to buy a day pass. I was warned that this is a silent meal, no talking aloud.
I went into the restaurant and was immediately greeted by many people talking quietly. I seated myself and waited. Someone eventually came by and explained it was a buffet. A server showed me around the buffet, announcing what each item was. It wasn't totally clear what was vegan, and I felt uncomfortable asking questions, as this is supposed to be a silent meal.
The buffet was similar to a typical hotel breakfast. The unique vegan items were: vegan cretons, 2 vegan yogurts, parsnips, full range of plant milks including chocolate soy milk, veggie cutlet, and a delicious chocolate zucchini bread. Vegetarians could also get premade omelettes, cheese, butter, muffins and such.
Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to get vegan breakfast here. I haven't tried other meals. I'm not particularly excited to come back.
Pros: Better than the usual continental breakfast, Cute place
Cons: Silent meals make it hard to ask questions

Brilliant Buffet - Edit
If you go to the restaurant at Le Monastere Des Augustine on a Sunday night for dinner they serve a buffet. On this particular night there were only 3 items on the buffet that were non vegan. The raw broccoli salad was amazing as were the rest of the dishes.

Delicious carefully prepared healthy food - Edit
On the night we went for dinner, they were a little short staffed, but we could tell that someone had been working in the kitchen all afternoon because the hot and cold items on the buffet were very fresh. Healthy food, which is almost completely vegan - when we are there, it was a fixed price all you can eat buffet when we were there. Prepared salads (with lots of side veggies, etc.), fresh breads, soups, and 3 hot dishes - They did have one shrimp dish and one lamb dish on the buffet - almost no items with dairy.
Read moreThis is not a place to go with a big group if you want to be loud and social - this is a quiet and serene environment. Guessing that most of the patrons are staying at the monastery hotel (which has a focus on individual retreats for rejuvenation).
Highly recommended - especially if you feel like you are not getting enough fresh vegetables while traveling!
Pros: Fresh healthy food, Format can vary (menu vs buffet), Good value

Good vegan and non-vegan options here. - Edit
Restaurant has three choices. One is vegetarian which can be made vegan if needed. Restaurant is in a monestary so you won't see any signs on the street for the restaurant just walk right into the main building.

Healthy vegan options - Edit
I went in Le Monastère des Augustines with a colleague and we both enjoyed our lunch. As a stater, you have access to an unlimited buffet of salads and soup. These were very healthy with many sprouts but they had good taste. I really liked the mushroom salad for example. For the dish, you always have a vegetarian option that can be made vegan on request. I had a vegetable steak with a pumpkin cream and hot vegetables. It was nicely presented and good. For dessert, they could only propose me strawberries but it was good ones. The whole meal is maybe a little expensive but I do not regret the experience, and the unlimited buffet makes sure you cannot get out hungry.

Great vegan option in Old Quebec - Edit
A small restaurant who offers 3 options that change daily (or weekly, not sure!), one of wich is always vegetarian. This option is usually easily veganized or already vegan.
Read moreWhen I went, I had an awesome vegan burger and took the salad and soup bar. I asked the waiter and he confirmed that everything in the salad and soup bar is vegan, wich is great.
Everything I took had great flavor and the staff was very nice.
The restaurant is situated in an old Monastry that was recently renovated. It is very beautiful but it's not a place you would go to party. It has a very calm and relaxing vibe.
