Market with multiple locations. Stocks vegetarian as well non-vegetarian food. Offers a wide range of vegetarian and vegan specialty foods, fresh produce, on-site bakery, and vegetarian deli items. Open Mon-Fri 8:00am-9:00pm, Sat-Sun 8:00am-7:00pm.
Not vegetarian. Just a regular high-end grocery store. - Edit
It's not notably vegan or vegetarian. I'm not sure what's up with the name. It's just a fancy grocery store. It might have been a useful resource back before mainstream grocery stores started stocking plant milks and meat alternatives and such, but it really has no reason to be listed in Happy Cow in 2022. Also, it's expensive.
I think this is a very nice place. As my aunt was telling me a few weeks ago: "I love eating junk so don't put in my face". I love Le Marché Végétarien, because they are not exclusively veg, but they do put the focus on the fruits and vegetables. Let's be real, we'd all want to have exclusively vegan groceries, but is it really sustainable? Most likely not. Also, it is great to put the veggie focused options in the faces of omnivores as it can make them realize they actually crave the good stuff!
The supermarket is not vegan. They are not even vegetarian and their prices are much higher than other supermarkets or even some health stores in the area. They sell meat, dairy, eggs and honey there. Total murder. I don't know why they have this listing on Happy Cow. Please take it off. I emailed them a nice thoughtful letter and comment and they did not even contact me back. Please do not go there.
Michael, do they offer some vegan and vegetarian special products? That might be a good reason to have them on HC. After all, EVERY supermarket sells murder. I understand that you are disappointed that they do not live up to their name, but please let us know if they are a place where a vegan can go to in order to buy some products s/he might not get elsewhere...
really nice fresh vegetables and fruits. lots of organic/vegan/natural products, juices, hummus, cereal, nuts. nice salad bar.
but lots of dairy/fish/meat in the store. They usually team up with a butcher and a bakery inside the store, so it looks more like a nice supermarket. kind of the equivalent of Whole Food Market but smaller...
There is a few Végétarian around th Quebec province and they all have the same quality and products.

Some vegan options - Edit
Not fully vegetarian or vegan, but there are some options. They have a selection of salads and bowls and some ready to eat meals that are vegan.

Is the name some kind of joke? - Edit
What kind of “vegetarian market” has a butcher counter and even sells veal?
Read moreYes I realize that other grocery stores where we shop sell meat. But they don’t claim to be vegetarian.
Y a rien de “vegetarien” chez le “marché végétarien.”

I'm not sure there's any more vegetarian/vegan options there than at any other high-end grocery store.
Read moreEdit: Yeah, I just checked, and IGA has the same offering of vegan items as Le Marché Vegetarian.
