No vegan options and not very friendly at trying

Not sure when you went, but I ate there last night. I asked if they had a separate vegan menu, they said it was in the menu they gave me. They had not one single vegan option on the menu. When I asked the waitress again she went and talked to the chef and came back and said that he could make me "vegetables." No further description. She said I could have a salad and vegetables. The salad was supposed to have cheese on it, when they left that off, it was just lettuce with no other "vegetables." I asked if they could make the vegetarian risotto without cheese. They did, but it was not very good. It was mostly clumpy overcooked rice with a very small handful of mushrooms and no vegetables that I could detect. I would rate this as one of the worst vegan meals I have had on our trip. The chef wasn't even trying. We are staying at this hotel and we wrote weeks ago to ask if they could prepare something, and this was the best they could do.

Cons: No vegan options and no effort made to try

Custom vegan meals

There are few options on Tahiti, so we were glad to see the one prior review. However they had no vegetarian menu when we were there. The hostess could not have been more accommodating. She spoke to the chef and then told us they could make us each a vegan meal and appetizer. The first tiny appetizer was a beautiful and delicious creation with artichoke hearts, then a salad of chopped veggies in a lime coconut sauce which was also excellent. The main courses were a coconut curry and a stir fry with rice noodles. They were good, but nothing special. It’s expensive but it’s a high end, ocean-front resort and is what we’d pay in Hawaii where we live, at any resort restaurant. The staff were very attentive and just lovely. The hostess checked in with us after each dish to make sure we were satisfied. I’m glad HappyCow allows listings like this one in places with few options.

Pros: Setting, Amazing service

Cons: Expensive, Nothing vegan on menu

Good beach restaurant

Good vegan food, although the vegan section is very limited.

The only vegan dessert available is fruit salad which was not even made of fresh fruits.

Pros: Good vegan dishes

Cons: Lack of choice, Lack of vegan desserts
