Soya Hot Chocolate and a Chocolate

Great to have after a morning walking the sights. Perfect sweetness for us, not too sweet as some hot Chocolates are. Chocolates are all marked clearly for vegan. Staff were very friendly.

I thought Hot chocolate was creamier

I wanted to try the hot chocolate because of all the reviews I saw. you can choose between almond milk and soya milk and they give you a piece of chocolate. It was ok because there was not much sugar on that but I was expecting a creamy hot chocolate, probably it's not how they do I Brussels.

The staff was super friendly and helpful

Pros: many vegan chocolate options , friendly staff, Big hot chocolate

Cons: not cheap, The hot chocolate was not creamy

Tasty vegan belgian pralines

Nice place to have a vegan hot chocolate or to try belgian pralines (or both).
They have a lot of vegan pralines and it's really well labeled.
They also have vegan milk chocolate ones (with different plant-based milk).
It's (really) expensive, but it's the price for good handmade chocolate in Brussels...
The location is really good, really near the center and the central station.

Pros: Vegan chocolate !!, Tasty

Cons: Expensive

A must for vegan tourists

Lots of vegan chocolates to buy and you can sit and enjoy the vegan hot chocolate.
I admit to visiting more than once and recommend going in the morning or evening (rather than the afternoon) when the atmosphere is more relaxed.
Order at the till.

Pros: Delicious vegan chocolates (all labelled) , Choice of non-dairy milk (oat, soya, almond), Friendly staff

Cons: Can get busy in the afternoon

What is all the fuss about?

After visiting the museum of fine arts I went here for some hot chocolate. The store is not cosy, uncomfortable chairs, very plain altogether. The vegan hot chocolate was not only very expensive, the taste was not that great.

I make my own vegan hot chocolate every morning for several years now (and have perfected my recipe). Perhaps that is the reason my standards for hot chocolate are superhigh or something?

Pros: Right across the museum of fine arts

Cons: I can make a better hot chocolate, Expensive

Kinda want your recipe now! I prefer creamy hot chocolate and the reviews seem to say its watery here?

A must go place!!

If you are looking for some great Belgian chocolate indulgence, then this is the right place! I ordered a cup of hot chocolate with soya milk. However, as they were out of almond milk, I ended up by having a hot chocolate with coconut milk as a suggestion from one of the lovely ladies who works there. When she came with the generous cup of hot chocolate, she said that if I did not like it, she would make me another one using soya or oat milk. How lovely? It was not necessary as it was simply delicious and flavourful. When you order a hot chocolate, you are allowed to choose a small chocolate treat for free. They have about 4 or 5 different ones that are vegan. I can't remember which one I chose but I do remember how much I liked it!
Before going there, I messaged them on Facebook to make sure they served vegan hot chocolate. They message me back in no time with the confirmation. They also said that the only two ingredients they use in their hot chocolates are 75% dark chocolate and (plant-based) milk. The reason why they are so rich and dense is because they use a ratio of 1kg of dark chocolate to 4 litres of milk! Fabulous!

On a final note, one thing that is really worth mentioning and highlighting is the super friendly and accommodating staff as it is just adds up as bonus!
This being said, please do yourself a favour add this lovely place to your list of "places to go in Brussels"! :) You will certainly not regret it :)

Pros: Delicious hot chocolate with, Lovely staff, Choice of 4 types of plant-based milk

Cons: The place itself could be a little bit more cozy

Belgian soy hot chocolate

Great soy hot chocolate, maybe the best I've ever had. I went twice in one day. And the other chocolates are quite good too, with friendly staff that are happy to show you everything that is vegan. Not organic as far as I could tell, but you can't have all.

Pros: Friendly staff, oh my god hot chocolate

Cons: not all vegan

very good hot chocolate. you can choose from several different options of milk (coconut, oat, soya, almond). The soya hot chocolate is soooo creamy and tasty. Plus there is some chocolate on the store that is vegan and tastes really great!

Pros: amazing chocolate

Great Chocolate

The soy hot chocolate is really nice, albeit a bit too bitter for my taste.
The vegan chocolates are wonderful and an absolute must if you're in Brussels. After all, Belgian chocolate is world famous, so it's great to be able to have some vegan options.
The owner and staff are very friendly, it's just a bit confusing to understand if you have to order your drinks at the counter (which we ended up doing eventually) or if they come to your table.

Pros: Great chocolate, Friendly staff, Several vegan options

Cons: Slow service

Great hot chocolate

We popped in for a soy milk hot chocolate, which was really thick and delicious! It came with a complementary chocolate from the counter, and the staff were really helpful in telling us which ones were dairy-free. I'd recommend it if you don't want to miss out on some good Belgian chocolate!

Pros: Lovely hot chocolate

Cons: Not much seating

Choices of nuts and fruits covered in chocolate

It is all pure, but not very special in taste. I was a little disappointed. I had expected chocolates with special fillings or combination of fillings.

Pros: Pure

Cons: Expensive

Ok

I wouldn't call it THE place to go for vegans. They have some dried fruits covered in dark chocolate. 100g cost 7 euros... It was good but I wouldn't buy it again. Maybe we are just spoiled as we've grown up with Swiss chocolate ;-)

Pros: Tasty

Cons: not much variety, too expensive

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING GO HERE!!!!!!

Loved it!!!!!! So many to chose from and without fear! Now we dont have to feel left out from all the milk chocolate pralines and Belgian specialties anymore :) My favorite was the round balls with a chocolate hazelnut filling that reminded me of a crunchy nutella. I wish I could go back and buy even more. Went there 2 days in a row. Fantastic.

Pros: Great location! Close to train station a, Nice staff, Many many options :)

Oh My Chocolatey God

Possibly my favourite place in Brussels so far. Indeed, 90% of the chocolate is vegan-safe (and you can see that on all the pre-wrapped stuff's labels). All other chocolate places seem to think you're allergic when you ask about dairy and will say none of their chocolate is suitable because of "possible traces". Laurent Gerbaud either have different manufacturing processes, or I didn't notice the "traces" disclaimers on the label (one more reason to go back tomorrow, so I could check!), and the impossibly friendly young woman working there today was entirely confident about dairy-free-ness.

I had the (soy milk) hot chocolate, which was out of this world good, and had a gorgeous thick texture. I asked how this is achieved, and was informed that they basically use a quarter chocolate to three quarter milk! The hot chocolate comes with an individual chocolate of your choice. I had the "coing" - also delicious and unusual.

I sat there for a while, a very relaxed place to be. Wish I'd tried it out earlier in my stay, I would have been there every day! They also have sorbets, most of which are vegan, and I intend to try at least one tomorrow before I head home! I have my eye on the Mango-coriander one...

Pros: Amazing chocolate, Amazing service, Lovely, central-enough place to sit

Cons: Could easily bankrupt oneself, Could easily overdose on chocolate, I can't take it home with me
