Lovely breakfast

Loved the tofu scramble and everyone is so nice! Home fries are not vegan but they offered to make them special for me.

I am Laura of Laura & Tony’s Kitchen …nothing makes us happier than to hear that our guests loved the food and that our staff was kind , warm and welcoming!
Special orders don’t upset us , we are here to serve ..our home fries are cooked in clarified butter and vegetable oil but we are happy to cook in Olive Oil ..just ask ..if we can accommodate we would love to ♥️

Lovely spot

Really lovely service. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I got a homemade bagel with vegan butter and an iced coffee with almond milk. Both were really nice. I've gotten the tofu scramble here before And loved it too. I'll definitely be back. It's also nice to see that they hire J1 students as I'm one as well. The cakes look delicious and it would be cool to see a vegan one sometime but I understand that there may not be enough demand yet. Nice outdoor seating too.

Underwhelming for this vegan

I love the pictures and enthusiastic social media presence this place has related to vegan options. I wish I had better news to report. The one item listed vegan on the menu- tofu scramble- had very little flavor and just was not that great. The avocado toast looks to be vegan, and the menu allows for egg or salmon add-ons. I asked if I could get avocado toast with tofu scramble add on and was told no. I asked for nondairy milk for the coffee and was told they do not have any. I asked for vegan spread for the toast and they don’t have that either. For a place to have one vegan item to be listed on HappyCow, I would expect it to be really good and to have vegan milk and spread options.

A lot of people seem to come for the baked goods and coffee- none of the baked goods were marked vegan. My vegetarian companion said his omelet was just fair as well. We gave it a whole-hearted try and were sad to be disappointed.

Pros: There is a marked vegan menu item

Cons: Flavorless tofu scramble, No vegan milks or toast spread, No vegan baked goods on our visit day

I am the chef/owner of Laura &Tony’s Kitchen.
I apologize that you were given inaccurate information , we absolutely carry Plant based milk, butter and cream cheese available upon request.
Of course you can order avocado toast to go with your tofu scramble but it is not a substitute for the mixed greens
My sourdough and bagels are vegan , everything we do is homemade …if you would have expressed your dissatisfaction with the tofu scramble we would have corrected it on the spot.
Labor has been an issue , we are not able to do everything that we would love to do ..we are hoping the future will allow us to expand our plant based offerings .
