Why be anti-gay? - Edit
This store is very close to my home and therefore convenient to me. However, along with my vegan values of compassion and non-violence, I will NOT shop at a store that actively worked against gay marriage. What is up with that?

Open Late! - Edit
I love this Lessen's because they're open really late. The only downside for me are the staff. I've had more bad experiences with cashiers than good ones. They're usually so smug and unfriendly.

I discovered and shopped at Lassens a couple times before discovering that the company contributed money to the Prop 8 campaign (which was against legalizing gay marriage).

In case anyone cares, the owners put a lot of money towards prop 8 (against same sex marriage). I personally don’t believe in supporting such a business and am always surprised at the number of people who will due to convenience.

We finally got a chance to stop in on a Saturday as they are closed on Sundays. This location is definitely bigger and easier to get around in than the Los Feliz location. And plenty of parking too. The produce is all organic, the bulk section is large, all the expected refrigerated and dry groceries as well as beauty and household. The deli and salad/hot bars had cleared marked vegan items. Overall, I really want to give them 5 cows, but they also have larger meat, dairy and egg sections in this store as well.

Decent Salad Bar and Standard Health Food Store - Edit
I decided to get a salad and soup at Lassens' food bar today. The ingredients were fresh, but the dishes at the bar were a bit bland for my taste. I did like that the vegan soups and dishes were clearly labeled. The store has more local vegan brands than Whole Foods seems to, but both stores are very similar.
