Great find - Edit
Super little cafe based in a small shop. Good selection of vegan burgers - which made a pleasant change to other menus in the town, as well as tacos
Read moreIt stayed open later in the evening than we expected with tables outside, when the road is closed and buskers entertain.
We walked past this place many times not realising it was a cafe, and the name sign is above the place so we only saw it from the opposite side of the road!

Delicious vegan tacos - Edit
We stopped here for some vegan food- finally a place with vegan refried beans. They did not have all the ingredients for their vegan ceviche, so we were disappointed in that. Also wish this and the other vegan/ vegan place had a liquor license. The vegan tacos were with different soy options which were good, but had hoped for some fresh vege taco options as well.

Cons: No alcohol, Sometimes out of ingredients

Super cute cafe! - Edit
I loved the ambiance of Las Robles! The service was fantastic. Had a lovely chat with my waiter. Relaxing outside under the umbrella, watching a family throw a football in the street... It was all lovely. I got the Alambre which was pretty simple yum - peppers and soy chorizo with tortillas to make little tacos. I also got the guacamole which was great! I'll be back to try a smoothie and the ceviche and maybe the Red Berries salad. It's mostly vegetarian but there are several vegan options, or ways to make things vegan. Lots of smoothies and juices too!

Great ceviche - Edit
So I actually gave this place 5 stars on Google maps for the vegetarian options but for vegans there isn't that much. The ceviche is super nice though! Variety of juices and smoothies (my fav was the "Abundancia" with strawberries and nuts). None of the desserts are currently vegan, sadly. Eclectic background music

A small vegetarian cafe / gallery with vegan options - Edit
Having already had lunch we were not very hungry but we were off to see a show at one of the local hotels (Rock of Ages - it was not very good) so we thought we should top our tummies off with some tasty vegan delights just in case we felt a bit peckish later in the evening.
Read moreStrolling around we found Los Robles a bijou, brightly decorated cafe located on one of the main streets through the town. It looked so welcoming and luckily for us the one outside sitting area had just become available as we walked up.
The menu had so many tasty options, but we wanted something very light to eat and were tempted by the vegan ceviche and mini empanadas, which came in a plate of three - so we ordered a mix. To wash our food down we chose to try the Mexican coffee, thinking this might help us stay away during the show.
It took a little while for the food to be served, which was surprising since we were about the only people in the cafe, but we were in Mexico so things always take a bit longer. But, it was worth the wait as the food looked very tasty, especially the cerviche which had been compressed into a colorful cone. The flavors were spectacular. This was also true for the tiny empanadas. A gap was filled in out tummies and we felt very content.
If we travel through this area again we'll definitely come back and try out Las Robles again.
