Surprisingly good! - Edit
Right near the Boardwalk and our hotel. Recommend the veggie plate that comes with a giant taco that is grilled on both sides, stuffed full of yummy refried beans and guacamole and comes with beans and rice. Really delicious and filling.

For a non-vegan restaurant that claims to have vegetarian and vegan options, they did a great job today. We ordered the veggie plate which was substantial and very tasty. The beans and rice were great and we love the addition of alfalfa sprouts. Something you normally don’t find in a Mexican restaurant. The gentleman who served our order was very kind and accommodating. We all loved it. A group of 10 of us went to eat there.

Good Deals Near Boardwalk - Edit
A no frills taco bar that is close to the Boardwalk that's not only affordable but had a decent selection of veg based options as well!
Read moreI ordered their Vegan Burrito ($8) which contained rice, beans, guac, sprouts(!!), and pico. While fairly simple, the burrito was pretty big so the portion size was generous for the price. Plus the added sprouts made it a bit more filling - although I would love if they incorporated something else like mushrooms, onions, or other veggies.
Chips and salsa were additionally very good. I loved that they served it on its own tray so they don't skimp out on the side. Great spot overall for a quick bite.
Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Open later during the summer to accommodate for all the beach traffic we get in town.

We found this place by walking through Santa Cruz and decided to give it a try. It has a Vegetarian section on the menu and the owner was happy to point out which dishes can made be vegan. Just ask, they are very kind. I had the special burrito with sprouts in it which was fantastic. They also have mexican beer for a good price. Note: They don't have restrooms.
