We love Lal's - Edit
Finally - a hot, filling vegan meal is on the scene in Twisp! Lal used to have an all vegan food truck back in Utah so he's well versed and knowledgeable about vegan food. He serves up at least two vegan entrees every day and sometimes more. You can count on gorgeous long grain basmati, dal and a vegan vegetable curry of the day. The $5 vegan samosas come with vegan sauce, they're big, tasty and filling. The kadele could be a meal on its own, too. The only non veg thing going in the fryer is the non veg samosa, at least it's wrapped in dough but you'll have to make your own call on that one, we ate several before getting into a conversational deep dive on the fryer. We didn't notice any shared fryer flavors, they're really good. In the winter, you'll have to take your food with you but in good weather there are picnic tables and they're in a little green public space adjacent to the Methow Interpretive Center which has a native plant garden, a traditional native american pit house that you should definitely check out and a really cool little natural history museum. It's part of Twisp Works so there's a taproom, shops featuring local art and a replica of a 1930's historic fire lookout. Honestly, we're just super grateful to have someone feed us. Vegan food is hit or miss and mostly miss in the Valley. You can spend as much or as little as you want at the Fork, it's really good value. We bring our own silverware so as not to use disposables. Thank you, Lal! We are so glad you're here, thank you for the delicious food!

Amazing Vegan Choices at Lal's Fork Flavors of Sri Lanka - Edit
Once you have left the land of the coastal elites, vegan choices get slim to none. Enter the world of portobello burgers cooked on the meat grills. Lal serves both meat and vegan food but truly understands vegan and gets it right. No faux meat just amazing Sri Lankan dishes like Mango Curry or Kadele (a chickpea salad with coconut). Typically there are 3 vegan options (sometimes more) that are not typical even for the "elites". If you are a Methow local and have not visited, just do it. As for my vegan family visiting from afar Lal's is a must visit eatery in the Methow Valley. If you want a pure Vegan restaurant in Central Washington you are going to have to wait several generations for people to evolve.

Vegan and GF with flavor! - Edit
So happy to find this gem. Fantastic flavors that warmed our mouths and bellies after a day of snow play. Was about 13 minute drive back to our place in Winthrop, and food was still a good temp to eat.
