A quiet spot with good food - Edit

Visited in August, and I was the only one sitting I side. The food was good with amazing fries. They may not have everything on the menu, but I liked my pasta of shredded vegetables. Tourist info: grab a bus here, it's too far out of the old city to do an easy walk.

Great value lunch - Edit

We went to the place for lunch. A two-course meal for 4.5 eur that's both delicious and filling? Hell yeah! The atmosphere is also super nice. It's located in one of the more hip regions of Riga thus near nice bars if you want to visit it for dinner.

Definitely a recommend!

Okayish - Edit

I only tried the beyond burger, wich was great and the fries that came with also delish. I think interior is a fail, very cold lights and sterile feeling.

Disappointing experience - Edit

We went in very hungry, and we wanted to have the very much advertised beyond burger, and my GF wanted to have another exciting dish. Looking through the menu, deciding what appetizers we want as well, we decided on spring rolls. So we started ordering, and were told that neither the Beyond Burger, nor the other dish we wanted were available because they ran out of the ingredients. Information that would have been useful before we started looking through the menu. So we settled on something much less exciting for us, which was Cesar's salad and some pasta with tomatoes for me.
While we're waiting another couple came in, and were given a menu. After taking time to make a selection they asked for the same dish my GF wanted, and got informed that that's not available. So they look through it a little bit more and decide on the beyond burger.. which of course also is not available. After that they decide to leave instead. So yeah, it felt like their time was wasted, just like ours a little bit. I would suggest to inform ahead, or mark items on menu that are not available, instead of disappointing customers telling them their most popular dishes aren't available.
Back to us, were hungry waiting for our appetizers, that are taking their time, and we get informed that if it's okay, then we will have the other appetizer (tofu sticks, that is once again less exciting for us). Well, since we payed already and were very hungry we agreed. Of course, when you order appetizers, you expect them to be served quite quickly. That didn't happen. In fact, it was somewhat of a long wait for our main dishes to arrive (which is okay), but our appetizers came after I was finished with my main dish, which makes no sense. The main dishes were okay, they didn't seem very special but also weren't that pricey. So that part is fine. We weren't fans of the tofu sticks, as they were very drenched in soy and we are not really into that.
Anyhow, we were really excited to try this new place and were very disappointed because of the experience we got. But I'm sure others had and will have a better experience, it just seemed a lot of things went wrong for us. I want to return for the Beyond Burger, but I'm not sure I can convince my GF to give it another chance. They certainly have to work on their customer service side.

Great new place - Edit

1st time review. Was sceptical before I we went there as lately most new places around were nothing special with simple fastfood style menus but for my surprise Laims is different. Tasty food with attention to details. Menu was not the widest seen but maybe thats explain why everything we got served was fresh. I can only recomend this place to other and I will come back very soon for more.
