Nice restaurant with great views on the island. Several vegan dishes on the menu. Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. We shared several dishes. The quinoa salad was our favorite ! Be aware, it’s pricey

Decent vegan food in Cheticamp - Edit
We came here because L'Abri is one of the few restaurants in Cheticamp to offer vegan options. When I went, the only explicitly vegan dish on the menu was the veggie samosas, but many vegetarian dishes can be modified to be made vegan. I ordered the strawberry-arugula salad without feta cheese and the tofu quinoa bowl without sesame aioli. The staff are knowledgeable about which menu items are or aren't vegan.

The menu is relatively well marked, but the staff are also super helpful in making many regular menu items vegan (and gluten free if needed). They were super accommodating, and the food was nice.

Menu and chef have changed for the worse - Edit
Beautifully located and decorated with a good looking beer and wine list. It seems this was previously the only decent option for vegans for miles around, however, we learned from our server that the 'kitchen has had some challenges recently and this have had to make changes'. ( Ominous...)

Making the veggie options vegan friendly basically left us with a burger on a bun, which may, or may not be vegan.
A dish of brussel sports was offered, omitting the cheese, bacon and aioli. So.. dry ,crispy, brussel sprouts.
Disappointing and may work in a pinch but certainly not worth getting excited for.
Pros: Nice environment and views , Friendly staff
Cons: Expensive , No vegan options listed, but burgers can be vegan, Staff have poor knowledge of changes / suggestions

Curry is Delicious! - Edit
I had the curried cauliflower, chick peas and fennel, which was incredible. Didn't love the added falafel. We sat on the covered patio with wonderful view. Inside was quainte and welcoming. Staff was helpful and attentive. Second vegan option was a yummy looking salad. Food is all hand made.

Great vegan and gluten-free options - Edit
Had the quinoa bowl made vegan and it was delicious. Staff were very accommodating. As vegan options are generally limited around the Cabot Trail, we were glad to find this place.
