But my experience at La Zanahoria was really mixed. I had mole poblano, which tasted fine, but my boyfriend had a burger that was super try (no sauce). We would not go again.

They have an English menu but it has fewer photos than the Spanish language one. I ordered the tortilla soup and chile relleno. It came with bread with a delicious garlic butter on the side. Delicious!

I was visiting Puebla and my friends invited me to this restaurant located very close to the Zócalo. The place is very spacious and pleasant. I was surprised by the extensive menu that clearly indicates vegan dishes and the buffet with so many options. I ordered the Vegan Enchiladas with Three Moles stuffed with tofu, although it was not the best tofu, it was compensated by the flavor of the sauces that were good and well seasoned, I took the option that offers salad, soup, a drink with refill and bread for a extra cost. The fruit in the salad was fresh, the lentil soup with plantain had good seasoning, the watermelon water was average, and the whole wheat bread was freshly baked. My friends ordered vegetarian Chipotle Relleno de Queso, Vegan Croquetas de Plátano and a buffet, we all enjoyed the place, the food and the attentive service.

We had the a la carte menu, but there was also the buffet when we were there. A la carte is easier to find the vegan options. The food was okay, was not the best we had but if you’re looking voor veggie/vegan food in puebla this is a good place to go.

La Zanahoria offers a wide range of good (but not very exciting) vegetarian and vegan dishes. There is an extensive a la carte menu, plus a daily set menu. Breakfast and lunch/dinner buffets are offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The lunch/dinner buffet runs from 1:30-6:30 and usually include a dozen hot entrees plus 6-7 salads and 5-6 desserts. Spacious environment, friendly service. Cash only.

This happens to be the first vegetarian restaurant in Puebla, established in 1989.

The reason for the 3 stars is the food. I went there yesterday and ordered a salad and side of guac and today a soy burger with fries.
The food failed to impress. The only reason I went today is because it's so close to my hotel I thought I'd give it a second chance.

The coffe is bad, and the food is tasteless.
The frijoles were super salty, the texture of everything was super soft and no spice.
The food was neither warm when it should be, nor cold (especially quite hot fruits). The ingredients seems cheap and the prices are not.
The place itself is huge, but nothing special.

compre una hamburguesa de soya VEGANA, la verdad no estaba buena ya que el pan estaba súper seco y la carne de soya muy grande que ni se apetecía, solo le di dos mordidas y la dejé, lo dejé pasar, cuando pedí la cuenta, tienen un apartado donde venden pan y otros souvenirs entonces entre para ver qué vendían y me dijeron que el pan no era vegano, que llevaba huevo, pero fue el que me sirvieron en la hamburguesa, la verdad es ilógico vender una hamburguesa vegana y que su pan lleve huevo, les dije que no estaba bien que vendieran un producto “vegano” cuando no lo era al 100% que lo modificaran en su menú como vegetariano, las personas no me dijeron nada, no me pidieron disculpas y ni siquiera se molestaron para intentar solucionar el problema, soy 100% vegana y salí muy molesta. Aún sus platillos sean veganos pregunten y asegúrense ya que sus empleados no están capacitados para diferenciar productos con derivado animal😡

Yo regresé tres veces. Realmente me gustaron los enchiladas con salsa verde y con pipían verde. Su salsa verde es deliciosa. No me gusto el hot dog. Hay verduras como zanahorias, papas, y chícharos. No hay ningún tipo de salsa.

When we went there I thought everyday is buffet but they told me only at the weekend. Nevertheless, it looked really good and we wanted to try. The menue is quite large and it's not easy to choose. However, they are not only vegan but they offer vegetarian choices as well. They also have a daily, weekly changing menue.
Read moreWe went for a Hamburger and the daily menue. For this week you could choose out of two starters (for example for Monday coleslaw or fruit salad, first one is not vegan), you get the daily soup and your choice two mains or parts of the mains out of tree and you also get a fresh juice for 119 pesos. It is around 6 dollars. Everything was really good and the service was quite efficient. We only waited around 5 minutes or even less.
I had the not vegan coleslaw, eggplan and peppers. The chickpeas soup was tasty and i actually never had a soup with so many chickpeas, they are really not cheap on ingredients. The eggplants were so so delicious. The sauce was creamy and filling without being to greasy. You could also add a dessert for 20 pesos but I was too full.
I would go there over and over again. You can eat cheaper and better and its a great option if you don't want to eat any more tacos.
