Vegan bakery

When using Apple Maps directly from this page, gps stops you sooner than where the restaurant is. Make sure you walk a little further. Also, they close at 3pm, not 4pm, as this page suggests.

We stopped by right before they were closing so we just grabbed some deserts they had left over. We do plan on going back one morning to try some other deserts too.

Perfect for a light breakfast + vegan cakes

We had granola in yoghurt and vegan cheese (really good!!) on toasts with our coffees - cheap and convenient! Wish we had had time to taste the cakes, especially the sugar free ones!

Fully Vegan Bakery!

La Vegana has a wide variety of sweet pastry options when you walk in, so it's perfect for on the go. I have loved everything I've gotten there, like their sugar free blueberry muffin, croissants, and more. My favorite has to be on the savoury side, their pesto/tomato empanada. Wish they had more savoury options on the go though!

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly staff, Many sweet options

Cons: Pricing is fair but a little higher, Less savoury options

Fully Vegan Bakery

When you enter La Vegana you can see the staff busy at work making cakes. As soon as I wanted to order, the lady stopped what she was doing and came over to assist. All the staff seem to speak both Spanish and English, and are happy to converse with you in each language.
The prices are a bit higher than other places in Sevilla, however I think you would pay the same for vegan, gluten-free or sugar-free cakes in England.
One time, I was a bit surprised by the small portion however normally they are very adequate. If they have it, I would recommend the Tarta de Manzana (apple pie), it is served warm with cream on the side, delicious!
La Vegana has a really tranquil vibe, definitely an escape from the bustle of Sevilla.

I would give it one star if I could

Happy cow doesn't allow one star reviews for vegan places but I would give it one if I could. I ordered the mango caramel cake for about 5euro and it had basically no taste. If I go to specialized vegan cake shop pay 5euro,eat a lot of calories,I expect some taste. The place was pretty empty but they were preparing cakes in the background. Hard to imagine who would order a cake at this place.

Pros: The interior was nice

Cons: Cake with no taste...

Postres ricos

Le doy 3 estrellas solo porque al momento de ir solo tenían postres y empanadas. Estaba rico, pero tenía ganas de otras cosas de su menú.

Pros: Buen sabor

Nice breakfast offerings

The café is on the corner. Enter from Calle Virgen de Villadiego.
English translations are on the menu posted in the window. Breakfast items include the Pan de Plátano, which I had: warmed-up banana bread with blueberries, sprinkled with granola with pumpkin seeds, and covered in a nice cream (sort of like whipped cream). I liked it.
Coffees (decaf too) and plant milks. Their specialty appears to be whole cakes. Women were preparing and baking at the back. I thought about buying one of the sweets in the display case, but staff seemed too busy.

Incredibly disappointing

I always take other people’s reviews with a pinch of salt but I can confirm the service was awful!

I’ve never given a vegan place 1 or 2 stars (don’t know until now that you can’t award a vegan place 1 star!) but this was such a disappointing experience. We weren’t greeted when we arrived - fine, we didn’t need to be. We went up to the counter to order and needed to call someone over…they seemed pretty miffed by this. We ordered some drinks, took some menus and sat down. When they came to take our order. We asked for the ‘tuna’ sandwiches and were told they were unavailable then we were told nothing was available but they could make us a seitan sandwich (not on the menu) because they were Just too busy. We were the only ones in the cafe. We were pretty shocked by the rudeness but agreed to this sandwich. 5 minutes later someone else asks if we actually want to order something and as they clearly didn’t want us there we decided to leave. As we were leaving we were told that they had a lot to do. Bizarre and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend.

With better service it would be perfect

The quality of the food and baked goods is quite high, I just wish their service was a bit better, because they were quite slow and not super attentive. If that improved, I would give it 5 stars

Pros: Variety of savory and sweet options, Nice and spacious location

Cons: Service could be better, Menu is not up to date sometimes

Great corner property and beautifully renovated by the talented 🌱 Raquel

One of the great things about being vegan and a HappyCow junkie is that one finds oneself walking all over cities to support 100% vegan businesses.

This walk didn’t disappoint and we found ourselves in a cool part of Sevilla and entered this lovely property through a white lobby door.

The room was lovely and I immediately noticed how big the kitchen workshop area was with people working away creating vegan amazeballs grub.

Talked to elegant Raquel who told us the property had been empty for 7 years and was in a bad state when she took over. She completely refurbished it and invented her amazing brand within.

The menu is extensive and we enjoyed every bite (see pictures) and we will return every time we are in the beautiful & friendly Sevilla.

The future is vegan 🌱

Variedad de tartas y dulces.

A la vegana fuimos a por los postres para la merienda.
A cada cual que probamos, más ricos.
Me quedé con ganas de probar cositas saladas, pero tendrá que ser en alguna otra visita.

Nothing special

Good selection of desserts, but pricey. The service was a bit slow, we got our drinks way after the food. I enjoyed the lemon cake, but the doughnut was bad and the sandwich was nothing special. The ambiente and interior were really nice. However, all food was brough on disposable plates, which is nothing but wasteful. Another disappointing food experience in Seville.

Súper chulo

Very cool little vegan cafe. Lovely ambience with great background music. Totally vegan which is rare. Everyone is different but I didn’t think it was expensive at all especially for Seville. The food was fresh, homemade and delicious. We had breakfast pancakes and the coffee was superb. . Well worth a walk over the bridge from the cathedral to visit this place. Loved it.

Great pastries, not so good for lunch

They have really good pastries and desserts, as that is their speciality as an "obrador" (Spanish for bakery pastry shop).
They themselves told me they do have *some* savory things, but it's not their speciality at all. They had some sandwiches and a savory quiche, but they don't have a fixed menu so that may change depending on the day.
They themselves recommended going elsewhere for lunch and sticking to La Vegana for sweets, dessert, breakfast, or brunch.
That said, I had a grilled sandwich with cheese, a homemade spread, and caramelized onion, with their homemade seeds bread which was really good, as well as a cinnamon bun which was delicious. All the pastries looked amazing.
They also sell local vegan products. I got some local kombucha and some local vegan cheese, both artisanal and made in Sevilla. So besides some baked goods, you can also get some local artisanal products with your visit which is always nice! 😊👍
The staff was really attentive, I didn't have a bad experience at all. They were honest and helpful about what they served, so my impression was good.

Pros: Delicious pastries , Helpful staff, They also sell local specialities

Cons: Not very good for lunch

Gaslighting; bad hygiene

Unclean, gaslighting and rude!!!!

First-Happy Cow, when I tried to give this place one star a few times it wouldn’t work. I do not want to confuse anyone; it should have been only one star…oh …no…wait….more like zero stars. This has nothing to do with the food although it was not very good.. It’s about the hygiene and lies of staff!

Coming from the kitchen I heard a thunderous sneeze. I heard the people there acknowledge it with chuckles. When I went to pay at the counter, I politely asked the cashier person, “was that a sneeze?” She looked me in the eyes with a straight face and said no. This exchange went on a few times. She didn’t budge. Just stood there expecting me to succumb. As much as she figured gaslighting me would work, I knew I would write reviews. And rarely do I write them.

Don’t let the attractive front deceive! The food was so-so, they do not care about hygiene nor value customers. The additional food including desserts which we ordered for later that evening in our hotel went into the garbage. Honestly microscopic particles of mucus are expelled with a sneeze and this was one big loud sneeze. And when this woman was decorating a mediocre dessert a bit later with her bare fingers I wondered about her fingers.

I have been vegan for decades and this place is one of the worst, if not thee worse. Lying to customers, sneezing in the kitchen and using bare fingers to decorate some dessert warranted this review. Trust me, I wouldn’t spend time writing this if I was even a bit satisfied!

The tall woman was nice. The one with glasses, dishonest. I only hope the owner addresses these remarks.

We will not return to this place, ever. .

Do not go. Honestly.

Pancakes and coffee were good

There are not many vegan places open earlier for breakfast, so we came here. My pancakes were gluten free and sugar free which is not my favourite combination. They also had yoghurt bowls and toast as well. I ordered the pancakes anyway and an americano. My partner had a bowl of yoghurt with oat cookie, cocoa and fruit. I enjoyed the pancakes. You order at the counter. They tasted nice and I liked the fresh fruit on top. I would have loved some cream on top but they are more healthy. The coffee was nice too. They had lots of cake for sale but we didn’t buy any. The staff were nice and I liked the cafe setup.

The cheese plate was excellent, the rest was a bit bland

A nice place but very health focused. The sweets are way better than the savory, except for the cheese plate which was amazing! Maybe I'm just a fatso but the salads and burger where a bit unimpressive.

Pros: Amazing vegan cheese, Good desserts

Viva La Vegana!

We were so happy to realise we were staying close by to this café. We managed to have breakfast here twice which was no hardship, I can assure you! The hand made brioche was lightly toasted and the toppings available simply delicious. The double serving of pancake was perhaps overly generous and slightly claggy but had we been ravenous, we would have been less discerning. The menu is in both Spanish and English with times of availability and the staff were happy to provide further information. People preferring gluten free food are also catered for but unsure to what extent. There is no outside seating but inside there individual tables together with bar seating. Continuing on a practical note, the loos are well tended and spacious.

Pros: Completely vegan so need to constantly qualify, Easy to find location , Environmentally aware

Cons: Slow service but worth the wait
